Im in the process of loading evox, and I have read many dummy guides, and checked all over the net for my particular problem. I'm trying to ping, and FTP my xbox with a crossover cable from my PC. I have an x3 BIOS 1957, on right now. I can ping and FTP the box when the x3 config screen is up, so then when I put in my evox cd for me to load it I can't connect via FTP, or ping it. My network settings have not changed on the PC, and either on the evox settings from the x3 config. Anyone care to help?

I know that Evox is different from the X3 config.
You have to set network settings in Evox as well. Once the X3 Config Live is no longer running, then you will loose all network connectivity untill another program (EvoX) starts its own network protocalls. You probly just have to enable them.
Also, note the FTP username and pass in EvoX is Xbox as opposed to x3 in the X3CL.

yeah i used the same ip and subnet that I did in the x3 config. so the evox network settings are the same as the x3 config. The passwods, and usernames are changed to what they have to be. Im getting a problem with my evox cd I think its a setting, or something. Ive reburned it a few times, so i know it's a reliable cd.

have you already installed evox from your cd to your hard drive or are you trying to ftp the evox files onto your xbox ?

Evox is on a cd, and im trying to ftp to it so i can backup files, and I think, you have to ftp to the evox cd inorder to install it to the hdd. So to answer your question no evox is on a cd not the hdd.
Thats your problem, All you need to do is install Evox using the slayers disc.
You cant save the evox settings if your running it from a cd.

Can I get the slayers disc from the "usual places" Im replying off the top of my head here, so I havnt searched for it yet. Thanks for the help.
Get the Slayer v2.6 burn to cr/rw or dvd-r put into xbox power off xbox and turn on the disc will install There is a few options to go through nothing difficult.
Once loaded you will see a IP address now you can FTP

So why not just use that ftp to transfer the files from your pc to the xbox rather than burning discs? Worked for me.BuddeOs said:

no need to spoof - the hardware is all the same!
so just flash the LiteOn fw you need!
if its a 9series drive but you want to replace a 7series drive - just load your dummy/OFW, autoload, spoof then erase and write (you will get warnings that drive types not same! - just ignore)

wow so know need to have it say 9series?. I have a 9series pulled the key but messed up the board. I have a Brand new 7 series just sitting here. I give it a roll

so take your OFW for 9series, load as source, load ix LT (9series one) as target, spoof source to target. then erase and write to your 7 series!
swap your drive lids too - so you know what you actually got in there! (which in your case will then be a 9 series)

ive done this and yes the disc loads but its spinning way too fast and dosnt slow down , any ideas?
