LG Hitachi Windows 7 64 bit Tips
I didn't want to do a huge tutorial since so many are already floating out there. But I noticed a lot of tutorials left out some helpful hints.
Problem I had--- Windows 7 64 bit would not recognize X-box drive using iXtreme 1.51.
Fix- If you look at your X box disk drive. You should have a number located near the top right. You should have one of these original firmware numbers 46DH, 47DG, 47DJ, 59DJ ,78FK. There are also drive updates up to 79.
1. So start your computer with your x-box power on with the sata cable out. On windows loading screen plug the sata cable from your computer into the 360 disk drive and open and close the drive 2 times using the x-box open/close button using a pin or some kind of poking device (I opened a pen up and used the ink cartridge).
2. Now open iXtreme 1.51
3. Go over to Hitachi tab on the top right of the window
4. In the middle of the window there should be a list of numbers. These will reflect what type of firmware you have. Select the number that was on your disk drive.
5. Now go to the left of the window where it shows a drop down menu with what looks like random numbers and letters.
6. Click on each one from top to bottom till it shows the drive in the info sections.
7. Click on "Send To Mode B."
8. You will see a warning message. Just click the only option it gives you.
9. Let it do its deal till you get a success message.
10. Now press your 360 open/close tray button. Nothing will happen. Press it twice and the drive should close. This means your in mode b.
That is how to recognize and place drive to mode B.
Problem- I did this at 2 am without any blank cd's making it impossible to burn the sound wave shown in most youtube videos and tutorials. You may be able to import the sound clip while still in iXtreme but I personally could not find the file i needed for my specific drive and firmware.
Fix- Download 360 toolbox.
1. Open rar file and copy and paste in any folder. I created a new one just for all the files.
2. You'll find a in detailed tutorial as a txt file named tutorial. Open it and follow the instructions step by step.
3. After following the tutorial you will have a backup of your original firmware as well as one of your newly flashed Hitachi drive.
Problem- Windows can still not find disk drive.
Fix- I was using the sata cable from my computers disk drive. I unplugged the cable from my hard drive and plugged that into the Hitachi drive. Then plugged the sata cable from my computers disk drive to my hard drive. This may make it easier for windows flow the data stream.
Problem- Windows 7 still can't find this F#*@ing drive to save its life.
Fix- Chances are your windows driver signing is preventing the drive from being seen by windows. Don't worry this is eay to turn off with basic computer knowledge.
1. Go to this site http://www.killertechtips.com/2009/05/06/disable-driver-signing-in-windows-7-using-group-policy-editor/
2. Follow tips to turn off driver signing.
If you are still having problems and you have tried all this, post a message about your hardware and the steps you are taking. Chances are if you are still having a problem there is a solution and Someone will have a answer.
I went threw a case of Monster and ruined my desk from hitting my head on it. The I went to outside in the rain and dropped to my knees and screamed to the heavens. A few more hours of failed try's past and I started blaming terrorist. Later it ended up just being a driver signing problem. So just keep with it and don't give up.
Happy flashing

Side Note- Sorry if my grammar and/or spelling is off. I'm using a computer and I have to use a custom bare bones browser.
