I followed textbooks tutorial exactly word for word

But i'm typing xread (serial number from 360 case) and getting the no valid key found in backups/..../orig.bin

It dumps fine to the usb, i just have the invalid key problem. Could the drivers or cable have something to do with not finding a key??? These are the only things I haven't changed, but the card reads good in dos

I'm using extreme53 and xtreme bootmaker 5.3 rc1
I also have the samsung ms25 drive. I chose 5.3a FW

The only suggestion in tutorial is to redo the steps which i did 3 times, and still same resultt>>no valid key

Re: no valid key from backup orig.bin when trying to xread m

okay i found this tutorial using fw toolbox
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=573693

opening up orig.bin in backup folder i'm able to read a key using toolbox...but is this the valid key that XREAD xxxxxx xxxx couldn't get??
Anyone know if this key is valid why xread couldn't get the key but it ended up in orig.bin anyways??

anyways the tutorial just explains copy and pasting into the xtremefw on usb and flashing back to 360.

i don't know if i should try this or not since i'm not positive about this key, as Textbooks tut explains not to take further steps until valid key is backed up.

Re: no valid key from backup orig.bin when trying to xread m

ok i did the tutorial and it worked great using mtkflash instead of xread.
after full read i ran toolbox and it confirmed the key was the same validated one Xread flashed except it posted no key for some reason.

now followed steps exactly on write, but got a port: c000,master slave a0 error.
I fixed this by downloading the via raid drivers and installing over the ones i installed from via cd. Just driver, no raid config.

retry, and now was able to write 100% success.

hooked up the 360 to make sure it booted properly and tested one of my originals (i haven't learned how to make a backup yet, later tonight)

only one weird thing happened and that was my controller turned off and didn't power back on, odd because i had no low battery flash. I swapped battery and powered controller back on...everything good.
My first thought was M$ thinking it would be amusing to put in a code if FW was modifed after spring update controllers would not operate lol..

tonight i'll install the blaster 360 and work on backing up my originals, meanwhile keeping this unit completely offline and second new 360 online
