I have modded 2 1.6 boxes with the xecuter 3 chip with I dentical results. The chip appears to work properly. The memeory bank chip turns red and boots to MS dash when the power button is held. The Memory banl LED turns blue when Power button is depress and both the red and blue LED light when the power and eject buttons are depressed simultaneously. The issue is there is no sound or video. I believe this is a different problem than posted because I never got the BIOS flash screen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....Chuck

Re: No Video after sucessful X3 install using Yellow/Red/ Wh

I got it working. Turns out all the bios memory locations had 3.0 loaded. I took the new chip and installed it in a 1.0 version box I previously modded. Once installed I flashed it with the 1.6 version of the X3 1959 bios. after it was flashed I booted the box and it came up with sound but no video in the version 1.0 box. However after I installed it in the version 1.6 box it worked great. Good Luck....

Question on Hitatchi ID and Flashing

Hello there. I have recently gotten a Used Xbox and have decided to mod it. I have only one problem. I cannot identify what version of the Hitatchi disk drive it is.

The sticker that usually Id's it has been torn off. This lead me to believe that the Xbox has already been flashed or modded so I put in a burned DL disc and attempted to play it but got no luck.

So here is my question. Is there another way to id what version of the Hitatchi disk drive I have?

and if not

How bad is it if I flash the xbox with the incorrect version?

jungleflasher will detect what type of drive it is when you plug it in and turn it on

Re: Question on Hitatchi ID and Flashing

The 1.51 on Hitachi doesn't have the wave check on it like the other drive types did for 1.51. This was done purposefully as they do not intend on releasing any further firmwares for Hitachis.

In short, you should be able to play any newer games, no matter the "wave" on a 1.51 Hitachi.
