No Video?

I've installed over 10 soldered Xecuter 2.x chips in the past so I'm pretty confident in regards to putting these things in but ran into a new problem today...

I put a brand new Xecuter 2.6CE into a 1.0 box today and when I boot the box, it has no video signal. Fortunately there is no flashing reset/frag lights but I'm just getting no video. Is it possible that the batch of chips I have don't have Cromwell on them (or whatever its called)? Unfortunately I don't have the flasher to connect the chips to the PC.

Any clues? If the D0 wasn't connected correctly, these things normally don't even boot, right?

I'm colorblind as hell so I'm going to get someone to check the LED colors for me to see if its the Green/Amber issue. Maybe the FlashBIOS on my chip is wrong?

I should note that this behavior is with the chip enabled. This box had an old Matrix chip on it with a swapped HD, etc. It obviously wont boot with the chip disabled because of the HD not being locked.

I had someone watch the power light and it stays green the whole time. When I hit eject, it resets the box.

I've tried this on both banks and its the same.

I'm absolutely stumped. Checked the voltages on the LPC and they're all good. In the process of checking and re-checking everything I managed to mess up my D0 point and even re-worked the traces on the board near that. Same exact results.

Any clues?

Was this a working Xbox before you put the chip in? I know you said there was a different chip in it before, but it almost sounds like the EEPROM is not corrupt.

Yeah. XBOX worked fine with an old matrix solderless chip.

I took another un-modded XBOX (1.0) and installed the 2.6 on it last night and have the same results.

I should also note that both installs are using the pin header and not the wires.

Everything I read suggests the EEPROM is bad but I find it hard to believe that two working motherboards all-of-a-sudden died on me.

Any other ideas? I'm waiting for a new MB and a flasher for the chip to rule out a bad bios or some other oddity.

I am having the exact same issue with my 1.0 xbox. I have tried using a different 2.6 mod chip and it still has no effect. I would apprieciate any insight into what it going on.

What happens with the chip off? Is this a new install?
