:( Just finished installing the x3ce w/Xapt3r and X3CP - from the looks of lights on the X3CP Pro Switch Logo the right colors are displayed when booting the XBOX. Blue for the X3, Red for XBOX and Purple for the 256K Backup. The only problem is that I don't see the X3 Config Live on my TV.

Does anyone know why? When I "long press" the power button the standard XBox logo appears w/sound but when I "short press"" the power button there is nothing displayed on my TV.

I haven't re-istalled the drives yet as I was hoping I could get some help. Anyone ????? I would certainly appreciate it - its been a long night.

If you just installed the chip you should be seeing the FlashBios Screen
You will have to load the Hacked Bios for X3

After you get the hacked Bios Installed you need to use an actual microsoft controller to make sure X3 will use it correctly

After this you should be able to see and access 3 Config Live

Thought I didn't need to flash as the X3 BIOS is on the chipset

I have a V1.6B XBOX - I thought I didn't need to flash the X3 BIOS to see the X3 Config Live Screen on the TV. I have verified every single connection, over and over again and yet I don't get the X3 LIve Screen - are there trouble shooters I can use to check the X3 BIOS?

I want to verify the Chip Set before I flash a hacked BIOS - unless of course its the only way to get the job done (but at last resort).

What switch settings / banks should I have on/off when I boot the XBOX?

I appreciate all the help!

The default BIOS And Legal one is the Cromwell
This is why you have to flash the BIOS yourself if you are going to use something else
The screen will look blue and display a version number

Do you see this blue screen?

X3 Config Live will only show if you have the Hacked BIOS
After you load the Hacked BIOS you will see the nomal XBox startup flubber and then unber the XBox logo you should see Xecuter Rox My Box Icon

In my sifnautre below read the section for Xbins it will tell you how to obtain the new BIOS

I don't see the blue screen....

I don't see the Blue Cromwell screen when in X3 mode. I want to make sure the Cromwell works before I try to flash the BIOS. I know the XBOX BIOS works as I get the MS X Green Screen and sound. Nothing from the X3 though. I want to see the Blue Screen w/version before I advance - any other suggestions?
:rolleyes:

Ok so now we are getting into some meat

Just to make sure that we are on the same track

1. You just installed your mod chip
2. You do not see the Flash Bios or X3 screens
3. XBox is booting into normal dash

All Pro Switch indicators are correct but no blue screen.

Yes - I just installed the chip. The X3 logo colors corresponding to the pushes of the power button are correct. Short push - Blue, Long push - Red (chip disabled), Power and DVD open/close pushed together - Purple. This is what the instructions say is correct but when I do the Short push - Blue - I don't see anything on my TV screen. the instructions (at least the ones I've found) say I should see the X3 Live Config Screen. Apparently this isn't true but I should still see the Blue Cromwell screen on my TV - Correct?

Yes you should see the cromwell bios screen
What cables are you using? Sometimes certian AV cables will cause a display problem

Try the original cables that came with your XBox

If you do make sure the switches on the front of the Black switch adapter set as follows

1=On
2=On
3=Off
4=Off
5=Off

I'm using the original cables.....

Can't be the cables as I see the XBOX logo and sound when the mod chip is disabled. It has to be something with the Cromwell BIOS or the chip itself .... this is getting very frustrating but I am willing to try anything to see if I can get the Blue Cromwell screen.......

If your chip has Bios Version 3.0.1 and you have a 1.6 XBox this will not work

Try changing your switch settings to the 2nd 1MB Bank Look at the pic below for switch settings

1. Yes for the 2nd 1MB Area

1= Off
2= On
3= Off
4= Off
5= Off

It can be the cables just to try make sure you are using the orgingal cables that came with the XBox this caused caused problems in the past for other users when they were something other than original cables

If the Switch settings do not work and you have the original cables installed try to unplug the switch bank at the Mod chip itself to see if anything changes

I have Blue Screen!!!!!!! Yessssssss!!!!!

Thanks for your help - I now have Blue Screen! Can you point me to a good tutorial on Flashing the BIOS - I don't want to mess this puppy up. Also, which apps are essential starters?

Thanks again for your help!

It was the switch settings.

Any pointers to a well structured / safe flashing tutorial? I'd like to get my X3LCD up and running next and it sounds like I need to flast the BIOS to get the X3 Live Config panel up and running. Any tips on essential apps would be highly appreciated as well!
Thanks again!

Cardboard box.

Once you're to the blue screen it will show you ways of flashing. I flashed mine through the DVD drive. There are many tutorials saying you need to make an iso out of the bios you find but I just used nero after finding the correct bios and making sure the bios is labeled "bios" lol I forgot to do this and I wasted many hours. Also make sure you check the size if the bios your going to flash in order to change the bank to the correct settings.

Did changing the swithes to the 2nd 1MB bank fix the boot problem or was it the cables?

Here is the URL for the FlashBios Install

http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/?CMSSESSID=7aeca362062ed198760b1e32853a66fd

Click the link for Xbins in my sig to find out about locationg bioses and other programs

I use the Dashboard UnleashX it works well for me
Also XBox Medis Center (XBMC) is also an Awesome App
If you wat to copy games to you HDD then you want to get DVD2XBOX this is an app that will run on your XBox and will copy the game using your DVD drive to your internal HDD

NOTE: Becareful with the Flash Bios install do not overwite your working copy of FlashBios normally you want to Flash with the X3 Bios on the oppsite bank of the working FlashBios

Example

If you have a working Flash Bios On the 2nd 1MB Bank
Since you have a 1.6 I would flash the 1st 1MB bank with 3.0.3 that way you have a working FlashBios in both 1MB Banks before you continue

Also check to see if you can boot to the back Bios by using the power + Eject button combo the Logo should show kind of like a pink color

If you cannot then you will want to falsh the Backup with 3.0.3 as well
