I just found out today that my new 120 gig westen D is not lockable. I am just curious, could there be any ill consequences to this? I am never going to use xbox live, and i doubt i would ever boot the xbox with my X3 turned off (which wont work because ill get a code 5). Should i be aware of anything else?

Not at all - the only thing which checks if the HDD is locked is the original MS BIOS.aenima4six2 said:

Hi all,
I have done a search but cant find the answer I need.
So I have a couple of questions.
I am about to send my box back to MS for RROD, my question is, if I swap out my BenQ drive for another (non modded) BenQ drive will it work straight off? A friend wants me to mod his box, we bought the same systems at the same time but he never modded his, so I thought rather than flashing mine back to original firmware I could just swap the 2 drives over, giving him a modded box and me an original to send back? they are both elites if that makes a difference.
Also do MS send out brand new replacments or send you a repaired console? I saw that I can request my own box to get repaired, which I would rather have if I am going to get a repaired box sent back to me?

you still would need to get the key of your modded 360 and put it on the non modded drive so it would be easier to flash back to original
