Hey guys, first post.

My Xbox 360 Slim was giving me an E79 error when attempting to reboot the Xbox 360. At first, I could get by without the error and play games, but now, it doesn't ever make it past the Xbox 360 splash screen.

If it is not giving me the E79 error, it will either give me a E71 error OR freeze in the middle/end of the splash screen.

Being as my Xbox 360 is a Corona V2 (4GB), I don't BELIEVE I have any form of memory module underneath the optical drive at all. I've been hearing things about a Southbridge, but frankly, I'm not entirely sure where that is. I assume it's the chip that says Xbox 360, but I'm not certain.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Having same problem on same 360 Slim 4gb, no removable module
I think that is a memory issue, on a couple of slims I had this problem, removed the 4gb and they worked, so I am thinking the now built in memory is bad...
Why M$? why...
Anyone have any input on this?

sounds like youve got corrupted files on your NAND. ive had several consoles in like this.

solution is to rgh the unit and build a clean retail NAND, erase the chip and flash the image then remove all RGH.
