Non Modded XBox Issue...

Ok I bought one of the Halo edition xbox from someone cheap...said the dvd wouldnt eject etc...so I get it...

the dvd doesnt eject for sure...but I also don't have a video/audio signal...

I took it apart and the dvd is definitely hosed, but the MB has not been attempted to be modded etc...looks clean no broken traces etc that I can see.. i've used standard A/V pack and HD a/v pack and notta...the light stays solid green no flashing etc...

will this happen if the dvd drive is hosed or not hooked up?? if not anyone have an idea??

I hate to ask the obvious question:
Have you put a DVD drive from another Xbox in it to see what happenes?

did you check for any shorts? or a flexed case? that metal case acts as a great conductor.

I'm going to try another dvd here soon...thanks for that...but would that cause no picture??

and where should I be looking for shorts etc...i dont see any metal touching anything...

changing dvd drive had no effect...still no picture and get this...the other dvd doesnt eject...could this be a motherboard issue??

One thing you'll want to look at is the little plug that powers the front buttons and leds. it's a set of yellow wires, like the ones that are in the back of the dvd drive.
