Hello, tried posting this in "discontinued products/Xecuter2" but says I cannot create thread or post. So will start here. I know NOTHING (well next to nothing) about modding. I bought an original Xbox with an Xecuter2 mod chip installed. Has three switches, one for on, one for flashing BIOS I guess, the other for unlocking/locking the BIOS. Well it has a 160GB HD installed. When I turn the system on it shows the Xbox screen with Xecuter2 at the bottom. But here is where the problem started. The screen moved VERY slowly, started fading out and menu started to show. But that took like 10 minutes. And when it got to main screen just to scroll down had to hit button like 4-5 times just to scroll one level and it took about a minute or more. So a definite problem. Did some research, reset everthing with Slayers EvoX 2.7 tool. It worked, redid the drive and everything but did not solve the "slow" problem, remained the same. Here is where I really blew it I think, BIOS said "unknown" so I decided to flash a BIOS. Did Cromwell 2.27, it was 1MB with the dummy file attached (did it off a DVD). It "worked", said BIOS found and installed it. Then it shut down as it is supposed to I guess. But when I turned it back on no video. Did some further research, found something about no video with V1.4/1.5 Xbox. But what I read (not on the Xbox since no video) said reinsert disk and would solve the problem? But it did not. Now the big mistake, Decided to try another flash with Cromwell 2.29, the 1024K BIOS. It SEEMED to work, could not see anything since no video. Shut down as it should do after flashing BIOS. But now unusable. When I turn it on it turns on, then turns itself off, then on again, then off again, then on again, stay on but light just flashes red/green. No matter what I have the switches set to, BIOS update on off and lock on off. Makes some clicking noises occasionally. No matter what disk I put in nothing happens, game, Slayer 2.7, BIOS disk. And very hard to get tray to open, sometimes have to shut it off and restart, keep hitting eject until it finally opens. If I turn the main chip switch "off" the chip LED will be red and I do get video but just gives me error screen (it did that before any of what I tried when the mod chip switch was off). So that is where I'm at, bricked? If so will remove the HD and use for something else. Again still no video after the Cromwell 2.29 flash, at least after the 2.7 everything seemed to work other than video, now nothing, just red/green flashing with switches in any position.
