So i have a xbox that is fragging.

x2.6
5032 bios
v1.4-1.5(never checked with volt meter)
160gb maxtor

So everything was working for about 2-3 months, but my friend brought it back to me. When i turn it on i dont see the xecuter loading sign, and the video is moving from top to bottom, i dont know if you can imagine this. Its like the video isnt fitting in the TV and it moves up and down. Anyways after the blob and everything I get an error code 5. I searched on this and it says something about the hard drive being locked/unlocked. So what i did was re-flash the chip, resolder the D0, and formatted the hard drive. When i installed everything over again i get the same thing.

i dont know what else to do. I still get no x2 bios loading screen and the blog screen is moving up and down, along with the error code 5.

Help me out!

Well i just hooked up the hard drive to my personal xbox which is a v1.0 with the 5032 bios. The hard drive booted right up with no fuss at all all games and drive present.

What could be the problem? The chip?

HELP!?!

sounds like he set the video mode to pal somewhere.
you'll have to find something to switch it back.

Error 5 means the hard drive is not locked. You can lock it with ConfigMagic. Do you have the ini file for 5032 setup to read the proper locations for your dash?

Yeah the ini is setup to read avalaunch first and then evox, which are both there. What doesnt make sense to me is that i cant even get anything to boot from the dvd drive. i looked at the usual place, but i didnt see configmagic, is it a pc app?

thanks guys/gals

found the program. But arent you suppose to backup the eeprom on the xbox you are using it on? I can only access the hard drive and ftp files when i set it up onto a different xbox.

Also i dont understand why it is looking for a locked drive in the first place. Whats the answer to that?
