Hi guys

None of my pc's bios have an option to boot from usb drive
so does anyone know of a cheap combo with a mobo and chip
that supports booting from a usb drive and works with the VIA chipset that is recommended

One of my pc's has on board sata but its not compatible for me
When I install the VIAchipset it does not see the card because of the on board sata that I have.

Processor a Main Circuit Board b
3.27 gigahertz Intel Pentium D
16 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache Board: http://www.abit.com.tw/ AW8-MAX(Intel i955-ICH7) 1.0
Bus Clock: 204 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 05/22/2006

Standard floppy disk controller

Intel(R) 82801GB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 27DF
Primary IDE Channel [Controller] (2x)
Secondary IDE Channel [Controller] (2x) RADEON X800/X850 Series [Display adapter]
Bus Adapters Multimedia
Silicon Image SiI 3132 SATALink Controller
ST320HG SCSI Controller
ATI Remote Wonder Controller
Intel(R) 82801GB USB Universal Host Controller - 27C8
Intel(R) 82801GB USB Universal Host Controller - 27C9
Intel(R) 82801GB USB Universal Host Controller - 27CA
Intel(R) 82801GB USB Universal Host Controller - 27CB
Intel(R) 82801GB USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 27CC

I think the Silicon Image SiI 3132 SATALink Controller is whats causing it to conflict with the VIA card that I got.
So I am looking for just a basic mobo and chip that will allow me to install the VIAchipset and have the bios let me to actually boot from usb because I have the ms28 samsung drive.

Thanks

hi m8. U should still be able to use ure new sata even though u already have onboard sata. theres a link in these forums somewhere to download drivers. Also, if there is not an option to boot from USB. Disconnect ure hard drive and other drives. Plug in ure USb stick and then go into bios and it shold be there
