This is my first attempt at the RGH. ( PHAT install )
I've followed several guides, but there seems to be a difference in my quick solder boards, and what have been shown in the guides.

I have a Falcon board,
and here's an overall shot.

from what i've seen in guides, this particular quick solder board might be my problem

what i usually see in guides is this board

I do not have this board pictured above, it didn't come with the kit I ordered. Is my J2B1 board a newer version? or something completely different? trying to narrow it down to possible bad solder points, or the wrong quick solder boards as the reason my nand isn't reading.

look over your soldering buddy also why do you have a cap on the cr not need for the falcons ...if you have a multimeter test the qsbs continuity under the board to see if there soldered right

you do have the console pluged in but not turned on right????

You are using the "XECUTER NAND-X QSB" (included with Nand-x). The ones in the guides/tutorials are the "XECUTER NAND-X & COOLRUNNER" which is sold separately.

the cap on the CR you speak of, do you mean that blue resistor i soldered on? I just saw it done in the tutorial, and followed along.

I'll put a multimeter to everything tomorrow after I get home from work. I didn't have any flux and figured i could wing it since I put a 400watt LED board together without flux, this however is much more fine point :/

thanks for the advice guys.

We have had this discussion once before. Diaboliq tried the original Nand X QSB with the coolrunner attached and they just will not work, They somehow do not draw enough power. He tried several different ways.

Recommendation, purchase the Coolrunner QSB and replace the one nearest the Coolrunner and buy some flux.

You certainly are not going to draw enough power from the Nand X QSB with that blob of solder on the 3v square

The Soldering is very blobby, you obviously have used any flux or cleaned any connections. It would be interesting to see what the underneath connections look like.

if u dont have flux dont continue as u will wreck the points
flux is a must just as important as the iron is
