So, E65 error.

Basically, I updated my firmware to 1.6 as normal through iPrep. Plugged the xbox in and get error E65, hmm. Load iPrep up and see that it was 1.6 and really I needed to update to 1.61. I copied the files from 'backup' off my memory stick to my desktop, just in case.

I read on the internet that I needed to change benq_ofw to benq_cfw or something along those lines, I did follow the instructions to the t, but I think the instructions were based on an earlier version of iPrep as you can't use the command fBen ****** **** on iPrep v11.6.

So how do I restore my original firmware, which should be unharmed on my desktop (I hope to god) using a newer version of iPrep or should I simply revert to an older version?

Also is there anyway of finding out which Firmware is the correct original, because after copying and pasting and renaming files. I'm not 100% definite, but I think I have an idea, but just want to be 100%.

Any snippet of advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :)

Re: So, E65 error.

E65- No firmware on the drive.

Use jungleflasher its soo much simpler and the jungle flasher tutorial. Once you load a firmware in jungle flasher it tells you if its ixtreme or orignal no matter the name of the file is and it tell you which drive its for. Simply follow the instruction for benq drive in the jungle flasher tutorial do an erase and then write the firmware you want and all should be good.

:) good luck

Re: So, E65 error.

I've looked at all the backups I have and they're all exactly the same. Would it be safe to go ahead with the firmware flash? I also get an error when reading the data bank now, saying that some string is missing... FML.

Re: So, E65 error.

I have fixed my xbox, and I'm now on my way with Final Fantasy, thanks for your help mate. Turns out it was just flashed badly with iPrep, JungleFlasher is so much easier!
