before we start i have been over the JF pdf and cant quite find the info i need, or at least not in a coherent single piece where i know wtf im doing so forgive the noob question and if your referring to the jf tutorial please point me to specific pages as ive been through twice now and it just doesn't give me confidence to mess around with much.

Ive flashed a few lite-ons but this is my firt hitachi.

Im using Win 7 x64 and X360USB PRO. I get no errors on loading anything, but JF gives no errors to start, but i only have my pc's ihas burner drive showing under the driv info drop down and when i hit scan it says no hitachi drive found, i can open and close the drive ok and when i pop the unlock disc in, windows prompts me to open it, so i suspect the issue is a driver issue. The only thin i havent looked at is downloading a driver for the hitachi drive, there are no flags in device manager when the drive is plugged in but it doesn't show under Hard disks or DVD drive.

Any suggestions or a point to which drive i need and where?

I also appreciate you guys answer noob questions all day and can get sick of them, id ask you bear in mind i dont ask noob questions all day so this is my first time :)

Is your X360USB Pro installed correctly?

Have you got "USB Only" ticked in JungleFlasher?
yes usb only is ticked i have green lights on my x360usb pro

here is what i see in JF,

SS1.jpg
Once i hit query or scan it says "no hitachi drive found"

The drive is powered and inserting the unlock cd will cause a windows auto play prompt so there is data transfer between the two.

The drive info should be populating in the top left window (under the 0x0000 port).

Do you still see nothing when you press the '...' button next to the 0x0000 port?
