I just installed my Xecuter3 and when I powered the xbox on.. the front little moduel X was red... and the power was on and off about three times.. and then stayed on... but nothing showed up on the screen. I checked all my connections.. and all looked right. I can hold the power button down and it does bypass the chip and boot the xbox bios, however, it continues to ask for a date and time. I then opened th box up again and looked at the chip as I turned it on again... I had two blue lights under the chip, but the front was still red. Oh yeah... the eject button on the xbox is flashing red and greed. I jacked up the xbox didn't I?

thats known as frag, check all your solder points and look for tiny microscopic frag points

what version is your box anyway? did you ensure you hooked EVERYTHING up again? one wire off could cause frag, or worse a short

it is a 1.6... I have resoldered all the joints... (before I found the section in here about the little rebuild board) all the wires are in place.. I used the pinheader and the wires from the wire harness. I seem to only have a problem getting the d0 wire to stay down... but I think I finally got it to stay... I was secure before I reinstalled the board... An alternate question I have is do you have to use the power switch board that came with the chip... ( power buttons connect to the board... board connects to the mobo.) If there is some light that you could shed on that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Upon doing some research... I have read that you might need to flash the mod chip with cromwell 3.03 to get the chip to work on the xbox 1.6b. is that the case sometimes with 1.6? I am pretty sure that my box is 1.6... but it might be 1.6 the date on the console is 10-08-2004. I am thinking that it is 1.6b and have had some speculation about that all along.

f**k the v.3.0.3 Flashbios, you will notice if it works with v3.0.0/v3.0.1 or not.

Get the X3_1959_v16plus.bin .

Flash it on bank 1 (1234: on on off off off)

so I don't need to flash if it is a 1.6??? hrmmm... Well last question: The little pcb rebuild templet for no wires or what ever it is call ( the L shaped thingy with the hole in the chip) is that better for someone to use instead of wires? and is it recomended for a noob to use it instead?

the thing is that if you have v1.6b your chip won't even work on your box when you got it from your reseller(if it has wrong flashbios installed on the backup flash).
So if you get flashbios up and running , you have a v1.6 and don't bother more with the flashbios stuff. voila it works! :D , if you don't get flashbios up you have to find out what version you got and ask your reseller to flash the correct flashbios on it.. if your box has hynix ram you probably have a v1.6b.
there are some threads about it, search for it on the forum.

Yes, you still have to flash it with the 1959 bios.

the lpc rebuild is a great product, it's a simplyfies the work some.

noob or not, why not use it?
