Well then damn it ALL, I will definitely have to resolder.

See, once I ran it then rebooted, as always it gives the Rox, then goes to EvoX.
to put it pitifully, I have NEVER seen XCL, except on sum1's website. :-\

Thanks Martin, time to roll up the ole sleeves tho!

btw, if u remember what I was posting about last week, when I was saying the only way I got it to boot to the chip was to press the reset button,
(since I was an oaf on not pressing power lightning quick)
I had resoldered those god knows how many times. Well when I was doing that I ended up using my meter to see if I had continutiy going from the solder point to it's destination. The result was that I WAS getting contintuity, but god only knows, maybe on the resolder that changed, or simple continuity was good enough, or something, I dunno.

I'll rechack pin 15 like you had mentioned before, I'm off!

Booooong!

*Trumpets play "Royal Entrance"*

Announcing, X3CL Config Live, being accompanied by TWO successful flashes!

Well Martin, I did try resoldering the pins on 13 14 and 16 (the top most pin)
and it didn't work out. (Oddly enough, made no difference.)

BUT what I do believe made the difference was having it disassembled and slightly re-aligning the chip. That's right by lifting it up off the base of the pin header slightly and making sure it was straight, it seems to have fixed the problem. Kind of odd if you ask me. It is QUITE possible that the pins were barely sticking up enough to touch the absolute top of the socket where it was having a problem with the PCB of the chip.

In any case I have full access to X3CL, and used the MCUH nicer FTP flash to slap 3108 into bank 2, and BOTH banks work correctly. Life is pretty sweet!

NOW I'll use the Slayers boot to resetup the HD using the "Stealth Mode" method, and tell X3CL to look in the F drive for the dash. (I left my drive empty so I wouldn't mind doing this.
Then I'll put some Bios into "C:\Bios" just in case then I'm XB Live ready yee haw!
(Never reg'ed it b4.)

Finally, on to Linux! (A BIG reason for chipping in the first place, am I right? :D )

I think this might have been avoided much sooner had I made the pinheader pins go through the mobo b4 I started, I might never have had a headache in the first place!

Thanks for hangnin in there with me Martin!

Now it's time to research the Aladdin chip, my buddy had someone do his, it worked fine, then today he tried flashing it. *ugh*
I don't mind helpin ppl, but without it being the superior X3, I might have a handful!
(No backup Bios? Aye Caramba!)

Thanks Martin,

I figured you more than deserved to know how it played out.

Today my friend with the nuked Aladdin Advance XT Bios, I checked his box and since it's a 1.2 or 1.3, I'm going to have a much easier time putting in an X3, so he's going to have me do it.

Off to the races!
