NXE2GOD fails ap25?

I did the update to freeboot 12611 today, and went ahead and installed my new Assassins Creed Brotherhood I bought today, onto my new hdd. After putting xexmenu and nxe2god, I decided to convert ACB to a god, but it gives me the unreadable disk error. I installed an older non ap25 disk I had, skate 3, and it converts over and runs no problem. So I borrowed a copy of fable 3, installed it, no go.

I have tested 10 games so far, all non ap25 games still work fine on the new freeboot 12611. None of the ap25 ones do. All installs were from original disks, and I am doing the installs on a falcon with an benq.

Has anyone found a way to run the new ap25 games strait from a hard drive? Has anyone else even had this problem? Is it just because the new freeboot still has the intact code that blocks LT drives from accessing ap25 games?

I also tried flashing back to 9199, but I found that Assassins Creed Brotherhood and NFS Hot Pursuit say they require 12611 to play at all, so I guess so much for keeping 9199 around while we wait for LT+...

thanks much for any inpjut you may have. sorry if smoeone already asked, I didnt see any posts though

In all fairness, this could only be assumption, he states that he bought ACB. I don't know about the rest though ...

flash your dvd drive back to stock FW, and try loading Assassins Creed Brotherhood you bought again it should play fine

the problem is LT FW is not reading the code from the ap25 disk to let it play

yet again we are talking about piracy :(
No, I bought APC, thank you very much. The others were borrowed or rented and installed for testing purposes, and have already been deleted.

I have not tried iso2god, mainly because I forget about it because I am not a fan f the file sizes it produces verses nxe2god. Plus with my disks right here, its generally less of a pain to just install rather than ripping and then using ftp.

The problem is the lt firmware, but the lt firmware is only failing the ap25 because the dashboard is asking for it in the first place. I would rather reflash the nand in a couple of minutes then take apart the box, take apart the drive, remove the solder, reflash it, put the solder back on, wait for lt+, take it all apart again blah blah blah.

I think I will most likely wait to change the firmware, and for now I will go back to my xenon jtag which has xtreme 53 on its samsung.

I was hoping someone would have some kind of snarky reply about how I missed a step in the readme or something, nut not yet? So I guess this may be an actual issue and not just user error?

I am having this same problem with AC: Brotherhood. I have installed it on the HDD of two other jtag'd Xenons with dashboard 12611, and it runs fine off of the hardrive (both internal hdd and external/usb hdd). But I have a 3rd jtag'd xbox that is a Zephyr, and I am getting the 'unreadable disc" error.

I also have Fable III on the Zephyr and that seems to run fine. I have tried ISO2GOD and I have tried to run it from an external hdd; no luck so far. Anyone have a clue as to why the non-xenons are having this problem?

I have read that people are just patching the 'default.xex' using XexMenu and that it works fine afterward. I will do that right now and post back.

Update: Patching via XeXMenu does indeed work. I believe this has to do with the type of DVD drives in the newer xbox's. So even though you are running from a HDD, it still checks with the DVD drive apparently. The older xbox360's have DVD's drive that do not support the AntiPiracy 2.5 (AP25) check imbedded in the new games, and so therefore the game plays fine. Xbox360's with certain DVD drives that DO support this function will prevent the game from playing unless patched. ISO2GOD by itself will not work unless the ISO was made with the newest version of abgx360 (ver 1.0.4), which has been updated to fix the AP25 issue.

So to summarize: If you have bought the retail game, and want to install to the HD, you can either use the newest abgx360 to create an iso, and then ISO2GOD to make it into a Games-on-Demand container; or you can use XexMenu to extract the game into a folder (it should patch the .xex for you). If you happened to extract the dvd-game on your computer (ie with 'Iso Extract 360') and then subsequently transferred the files over to your xbox, then you have to make sure you patch the 'default.xex' file with XexMenu.

(hopefully others can confirm the accuracy of this)

AC:B works fine with my old iXtreme 1.6 flashed LiteOn (Never had any intention of going online with it) in my Jtag and so does NXE2GOD. Since I don't like to change game discs everytime I want to play a different game and in the process get them scratched, I just convert them to GOD using NXE2GOD.

If you want everything to work fine with newer games which contain AP25 checks, create a new freeBOOT image using fbbuild 0.11 as it removes the extended OSIG checks related with AP25. Then after writing this new image to your console, use DashLaunch 2.06 patches and you'll never have to worry about AP25 again ;)
