Obtaining switch keys from emuNand?

Hi,

To my knowledge, the switch keys can only be read out of the sysnand (Hekate CTCaer mod + Lockpick) Is it possible, for example, to read out the keys from a 6.2.0 emuNand, to obtain the Masterkey 6, when the sysNand is set to 4.1.0? If yes, how does it work? If not, could that possibly be implemented by TX?

Do you mean game keys or the firmware keys? Why would you need them if your switch is on 4.1 and you emunand is on 6.2? Everything works on 6.2 now. So you could just upgrade your sysnand to 6.2 as well. Plus I am not sure that this is the right place for that anyways.

I'm talking about the keys that are needed to convert XCI to NSP. (I don´t know if more recent games can be converted with the keys of 4.1.0)
I'm an offline gamer and one of those who are on a low FW in sysNand, hoping for a coldboot / warmboot hack in the future. As it looks, there is something coming soon. That's why an update to sysNand > 4.1.0 is out of the question. Otherwise, I could update to sysNand 6.2.0 without emuNand. Since my question is in relation to TX emuNand, why not here, where else to put it?

I guess wait for someone else to comment who has more experience. I don't think TX has any tools for SX that grab title keys as far as I know. Emunand is the same as the system nand just a copy. So any ways that would work on the sysnand should work on the emunand as well. Unless maybe you are using the hidden partition.

I'm using the file version of the emuNand, because it's also easier to handle in terms of backup of data, or the transfer to another SD card. The problem probably is that the payload loaded for dumping the required files will always only access the sysNand. The emuNand is booted in second instance by the SX Loader Payload. (If I can judge this correctly as a layman and I express myself correctly). Therefore, only TX will be able to incorporate this option into its boot menu, so that the dump can be accessed on the emuNand.

Ahh ok, I got it now. Sorry, I'm not that familiar with that part. Hopefully someone who has more experience with it will comment.

EDIT: I do see this as an feature under the Installer post:

  • Ability to export all title keys installed on the system.

It seems like you can. So I would you you just need to be booted to whatever nand has the games installed and you should be able to. I have not tested this myself yet though or I could be misunderstanding what it means.

I have already seen this option in the SX Installer, but only titlekeys are dumped there. The prod.keys are not taken into account. But that's exactly what I am all about. I'm not sure if it's the same.

If there was a way to get tsec_root_key out of the emuNand, there would be a way to create the keys with the Lockpick tool!

This would allow people to get the keys from the most recent FW of the emuNand while the sysNand is at a lower FW.

This useful feature would put the diamond in the crown of the SX OS, even for future FW updates!

Edit:
The Developer of Lockpick announced, if TX will implement a tsec_root_key dumper in the style of Hekate and it's in a consistent file and location, he will add support for it.
