Odd error

I have a xbox ver1.1, x3 modchip with x3bios 1959, that all goes great. I get a problem when the chip is disabled and i goto the ms dashboard. The dashboard works, but when i put an legit copy of a game in i get the error in english only that my xbox requires service. Now i did have issues with the xbox but i formatted all partitions, and it fixed the problems.(super slow loading times).

I am thinking that the original bios on the xbox is gone or messed up, or formatting all partitions did something but i am not sure on this. I do not have a network so i cant log into the xbox. Also i have gotten the error i need the DVD playback kit. But this was a game not a video dvd. i did searches here and at other sites, but i dont know really what i am looking for

Oh and my thompson drive read a sony dvd+rw no problems

The xbox recognizes audio cd's fine and comes up with the right error for non xbox cds. it also lets me copy audio tracks to the HD. So this is leading me to believe that formating all partitions erased something that is needed to read xbox format discs. i dont know the workings all that well. Please tell me if this sounds right or way wrong

Try using the slayers disk to reload your M$ applications on your hard drive... This may help your problem....

that info is stored on the dvd drives firmware i believe....

XBC won't open Deadly Premonition

Hola all,

I'm trying to back-up my Deadly Premonition & I've got greyed-out boxes in XBC v2.9 across the board, but it recognizes my kreon drive.

This happened once before months back & all I had to do was restart my computer to reset everything. No luck this time tho.

Any ideas?

Your not trying to rip it with the Kreon Drive are you?

Yeah, but I figured it out. I just had to completely shut down my computer & then start it back up & all was good again.

Why wouldn't I use the kreon drive to rip anyway?

Kreon only rips SSv1 0800 drive rips SSv2

Good Point Mr Pete that's what I was going to mention ..... I wouldn't trust a kreon rip anymore just for that reason alone!

I don't usually play any of my back-ups online. It's not really worth the risk.

So does it matter that my initial rips might not be SSv2? Also, manually patching the SSv2 files works just as well right?

If it does matter, is the "0800" you mentioned new firmware that I can flash my existing dvd drive with?
