First Off my configuration

Now i was up and running fine with the EVOX bios... but i wanted to use the new X3 2914 bios... so i flashed bank one ON ON OFF OFF... flashed great... rebooted and wow new 2914 bios... turned off the configure live... and rebooted and nothing... i had no sound no video nothing but the hard disk was working like a mofo.... i powered it of.. rebooted... still nothing... flashed bank 2 OFF ON OFF OFF with the 2914 still nothing... put EVOX on another bank OFF OFF ON OFF and evox booted... tried to put EVOX on bank one.. nothing will not boot will not boot on bank 2... so i started playing around searching for a bank.. ON OFF OFF ON will let me boot EVOX... I don’t want to try to flash that bank now with 2914 in fear ill never get my box working again... i have no clue what the problem is but i know no matter how many times i try to flash bank on or 2 with either evox or 2914 it wont work.. any help or incite would be appreciated...

1959 boots

Well i flashed back to 1959 and it works... i also tried 2913 with no joy... I haven't been able to find any issues with a resolution on the 291x bios... is this a known problem?

Also how do you use erase_bios.xbe ? do you just put it in your c drive and run it as you would any other file? is their any documentation on this file?

Wasnt this the pin 13 and 14 re-touch issue ??? Something to do with the X3 BIOS's accessing the video thru these pins whilst the others dont use it.

I think Xecuter tested a box like this.

13 14 issue...

I would have thought the same thing but the 1954 bois works... and i did have the 2914 bios working till I turned off the boot to configure live option and just had it boot to my desktop!

This is a really annoying issue... I don’t need to upgrade to 2914 but I really would like to... I don’t understand why I cant reflash my bios and get it working properly...

I’m going to try the trick of writing a 256k EVOX converted to a 1MB bios tonight and then erase it with the erase_bios.xbe and try to reflash it with the 1914... but honestly I’m not expecting it to work...

There is something that the bios configuration is writing to the bios bank or somewhere that is causing the problem when I switch off the configure live….
