Odd issues

After installing an X3 into a v1.0 box, I've been having trouble booting ever since. After fixing the solder points and fixing the fragging issues, as soon as the xbox is plugged in with the modchip plugged in, the xbox automatically turns on, and does NOT load the default bios that comes on the chip. Instead, MS bios loads, but all the External switch LED's work, even indicating a red "x" on the switch. Oddly enough, the smaller power button does not function at all, and to turn off the xbox you manually have to unplug it.

The X-box works flawlessly when the modchip is not plugged in.

Even more odd, after tinkering with the eject button, eventually the backup BIOS loads after the microsoft BIOS was active... wasn't the small power button supposed to toggle this function, in conjunction with pressing both? Attempting to flash the bios in this state results in an error.

I was talking with a friend, and he looked at the box for me.. even suggested the chip may be defective and that he's never seen an error like that before, and directed me to call the place I ordered from and talked to them.

I skimmed the forums for such a problem, but to no avail. Perhaps someone ran into this before and could assist me.

firstly does your xbox power on without the modchip installed when you press the power button?

how did you try to flash the bios?

see if it powers on without the reset/eject adapter (see part 3 in x3 guide for picture) plugged in

i would say that if it works without the reset/eject adapter then you need to talk to site and you bought it from for a replacement
