hi guys just got a friends box that someone put a 2.6 mod in and couldent put a dash on,so he has tryed a version of config magic "dont ask why"to try and get a dash on, he tells me,and now their is nothing.ive tryed hdd in another box thats no problem,chip comes on fine, but the main power button on box flashes the normal green a couple of times then stays on "green"with no video what so ever,im clueless on this one guys as ive never had this b4 any ideas?thx

Well does the xbox boot to the M$ dash? Try the Slayer 2.6 installer to load evox dash and apps.
Wat do u meant theres nothing?? do u guys upgrade the hdd??

no ms dah does boot up, does not eject ,no video,but when switch the tv to av, there is a nose like it wants to but it just wont, no screen "ms dash" nothing, light flashes green then stays on green with nothing else, doing my tree in, but got the box for £20

This post is extremely difficult to understand.
1. What bios was flashed to the chip?
2. What happens when the Xbox is booted with the chip off?
3. How was the chip installed?
4. What version is the Xbox?
5. Could you please use periods and capital letters?

completely remove the chip from box and see if it boots up

it if isn't a solderless install then check for bridged connections

Ok it is a v1.6 xbox
Bios thats been put on x2 5035v16plus
the chip was soldered " and was working fine prior to him using config madgic" "with this bios"
it is the exact same with chip off?

ok removed the chip and it is the same, "lighting up green NO red at all, the green flashes a couple of times and stays on green,With no video or sound,Ive seen anything like this so im clueless,It seems like whatever he has done its screwed the board up some how? What do you think?

you should be using the standard a/v cables that came with box, if not do so and see if that helps

as i've mentioned before it is also important that you check around the install for solder bridges, use a magnifying glass if necessary

Sounds like a coma Xbox. This can be done very easily with Config Magic. There is a version of flashbios floating around that has an EEPROM embedded into it. You may want to look into that.

also mk all cable's are original and the chip is fine, it only happened when he messed about with config magic.

A coma box is an Xbox that has a bad video mode set. You friend didn't screw up the bios with Config Magic, he screwed up the EEPROM on the Xbox. That holds a lot of the video settings. To get the Xbox working again you have to fix the EEPROM. There are two ways to do this.
1. Search for a program called Enigma Video Mode Switcher. This program may be able to fix the EEPROM.
2. There is a version of flashbios with an embedded EEPROM in it. You will have to flash this via a programmer or a hot swap.

ok fantmx, Ive tryed flashbios, doesent seem to be working? enigma how do i drive this? and how do i get it on hard drive? or where do i put it if i use another box to do the hdd?does it go on hdd? please let me know as your the only 1 that realy knows what this problem is that i have spoken to thx

Make a bootable Enigma CD/DVD. There should be a readme with it that tells you how to use it.

What do you mean you've tried flashbios? Did you find the one with a 1.6 embedded EEPROM? It is a special version, not all versions of flashbios have it.

ive located flash bios but it does not tell you if it has the 1.6 eeprom on it. Ive tryed 1 but that dident work. I carnt open the dvd drive on the box anyway so i beleive this is the way i will have to go. Do you know the name of the flashbios i need that would be handy thx

Read this and make sure you select the proper version. Good luck!

Hopefully you have a backup of the original EEPROM.

ok put it on the chip , And i get the flashbios 3.0.3 screen, Not sure what to do now? how do i save the setting so it will boot up so i can put my x2 5035 on the box? as this 1 is new to me and it does not say on the link you gave me..... If i boot the box with this image its fine but if i reset im back to square 1, thx for help youve been very helpfull and i feel its nearly done but not sure about this final step thx
