Odd problem with 2.6ce

Hi all
I've got a bit of an odd problem here I'm hoping someone out there can help me with.
I'll admit I'm a noob xbox modder but I scratch build Pc's every week so I kind of know what I'm doing.
I've got a V1.0 board and I've put an xecuter 2.6ce in it.
The problem is I cant seem to flash the bios, to be more accurate I'm not too sure if it's actually working.
With the chip off it boots normally with the flubber bit to the dashboard, but with the chip on it boots to a blue version of the xbox logo with the place that I brought the chip from's web site address in the top left and then goes straight to the dashboard like normal.
There's no flashing light's or anything like that, it just runs as normal but with a blue xbox logo on startup.
I figure I must be doing something wrong I just dont know what?
I've tryed several types of cd in an attempt to flash the bios but they just get spat out, but since I cant actually see the cromwell bios settings I'm guessing it's not actually working correctly.
It's probably something very obvious but, any help, hint's or tips would be greatly received.

I think you already have a X2_bios installed, it is blue xbox logo with the website address because the bios has been modified already.

What you need now is a dashboard or better yet download a Slayer's Evox 2.6 Auto-installer and burn it on a dvd-r.

Well i dont think that a website would sell a preflashed chip. Its illegal, but its not illegal to sell a chip that doesnt have a hacked bios. Get it? So i think you still need to get the chip flased. Check the faq on how to flash the chip without using flashbios.

Also, did you check both banks to see if it comes up the same?

I actually brought the chip from www.xbox-mod.co.uk and I believe it is surposed to be flashed with the cromwell bios, but there's no sign of anything about the cromwell bios on the boot screen so something is obviously not as it should be.
Yes I checked both banks and it's the same on both, so that's no it thanks.
I'm at present downloading Slayers Evox 2.6 auto installer hoping that, that will work, but since it spits copyed dvds out I'm not too sure it will work.
So if anyone has any other ideas please keep them coming

Many thanks guys, it would appear it was as islander suggested, that the bios was pre flashed.
I downloaded the Slayer Evox put it on a DVD-R and it went on fine, I'm still not too sure why it didn't like the cd-r that I tryed it on but everything seems to be working ok now thanks.

many xbox drives wont read cdr .... better to always use DVDr discs even for smaller files that would fit on a cdr
