You can use only USB for most flashing but you still need the molex for the full capabilities like reading, closing, opening the drive, ect.

Glad I bought it but would have wished to see a longer dvd cable.. I wanted to keep this setup in the back of my pc then have the cables routed closer to the front.. its alright though
Any hopes for a firmware update for the original usbpro to add the ripping feature?

well no because it now includes a ck3 i want to know if it possible to add the ripping feature to the usb pro witch could be possible if there hasn't been to much change to the hardware side of things (on the sata to usb side).
Dude-Bro their is alot of new hardware besides ck3 features....
pretty sure no fw upgrade can handle 0800 rips with ofw drives.....
Uber would of told us if was a fw upgrade for xusb pro v.1...their not in it to take are $$$ TX just wants to give us a great product and good $$

That's not a joke, I am sure X360USBPRO1 can do it too, it's software related, not hardware. The only thing I can see is business reason to push V1 users to buy V2. But TX wouldn't do that.
So my question is serious, will USBPRO1 be updated for ripping too ?

Highly doubt its just "software". There is most likely a micro controller that does the adjusting. Sure if it was just software they would've released it. They know the v2 does more then just the ripping. Its a all-in-one solution.

Crazy if it v1 cannot/ has not got the capability buy the v2 what's the point in developing stuff that's not needed when we can put our efforts to bringing new lt and corona mobo's
