hey... when flashing for the first time ive read a ton of different things and asked on IRC.
Some are saying when flashing cromwell for the first time make the bios 1mb. others are saying leave it at 256 and still others are saying 512.

Any chance of an update or a quick answer to this problem.

BIOS size depends on your chip and/or what you are trying to accomplish. With a LITE (or +) you can flash with a single 512k for one bank or 1024k for both banks. With the PRO you can do 256k, 512k or 1024k.
i have a 2.3b lite coming.
the bios package comes with 2x256 files...
4980.06_256k.bin
4980.67_256k.bin
do i convert one of them to 512 and then rename it bios.bin and burn to the cd?
or what?

where is everyone getting these bios's from!!!!i have a xecuter 2.2 pro that just came and all i got was the chip....no cd's nothing...i installed it and it doesnt play my backup games.....how do i get a bios that will let me make a backup disk of one of my games and let me play it on my xbox?

Ok, I have a Xbox v1.5 with a xecuter 2.3b lite installed. At first there was no picture, then i got on this site and got the right bios. I flashed the bois(2.28) onto bank one. Then i read that you had to flash bank 2. I need help doing this, because it just gos to the screen where you flash your chip. I need to get the flash complete. Nevermind got it to work
Can't get past 'Insert CD - Flash Mode' on Cromwell
I burned the Xecuter BIOS cd just as the tutorial here said (I used a 1024k bios b/c I am flashing to a 2.2 Pro, I don't have the ext programmer). After I put the cd-rw in when it asks for it, nothing happens. The drive spins up but the cromwell screen doesn't change, it still says 'insert cd -flash mode'. I have tried HP and FUJI brand cd-rws and no change. Can anybody help me? Oh yeah, I even tried using two different cd-rw burners and no change.
UPDATE:I found out something interesting. I thought once I got my 616T to work with my games it was all set, maybe this is not totally true. Even though my old thomson has the DD error I figured what the heck, lets try hooking it up and seeing what happens. Well I got one step farther. the 'insert cd-flash mode' turned into 'waiting for drive -flash mode' but of course didnt read b/c the thomson drive is bad. Any ideas on what i might have to do to my modded 616T? it plays original games with the modchip off so i dont get what could be wrong.

I then checked Bank 2 as I was told by the teamxecuter tutorial and it was the original Bank 1 screen (Please Insert CD - Flashing Mode) so I turned the XBOX off, switched to Bank 1 again(which it said was succesfully flashed) and the same screen as before is there. Its telling me to flash it again.
So I flash it again and it goes through the progress bars and shuts off by itself but every time I turn it back on it asks me to flash it again.
Please someone help me lol

ive done everything and my xbox just wants to keep installing the cromwell bios!!! i instal it then it goes off then it wants it again and again!!!!!! please help
