hey guys i found the best way to fix all you problems...buy the X-Ecuter 2.X LITE/LITE[+] Flasher/Programmer V2 (do a google or yahoo search for it) and get the x2bios manager for it, it works great if this is your first time trying to flash.

I Have a Thomson and I actually got something to work in it . I'm using an old HP CD-RW that I think isn't being sold anymore. However, I'm still having a problem. I got an error message stating that I was trying to flash with an Unknown BIOS, but It recognized the CD label and the filename (both BIOS). So it's catching on to something. But any and all advice would be helpful.

ok i have a real doozy,i have had the same symptoms as others,i turn on the box with the chip enabled
unprotected,on bank 1
i did it first then it was a blue screen not black like everyone elses
it says just before the insert cd flashing mode ,well just above it ,it says "unable to read hdd first sector getting partition table".
but anyway insert cd,it flashes like it is supposed to
then it says in the tutorial to switch to bank 1 to finish the process,it was on bank 1 the whole time, was i supposed to flash from bank 2 first?if so i went back and switched to bank 2,flashed then waited for the box to turn off, then switched to bank 1 then swirched on,but the eject button only flashes red not red and green, but if switch back to bank 2 then boot it asks to flash the cropmwell bios again.
WTF do i do???????????????

have i screwed up my chip? is there a way to fix this?

Problem i dont see no1 else having!

Hi all,
First post on here so excuse my noobiness! I have looked around on the forum and other sites such as xboxscene but still coming up with same error when i try to flash my bios.

I have installed my chip correctly (X2.3b lite plus) and connected my own hd in, which is 160gb from previous xbox still has all the old stuff on and the dvd drive, which is Philips. Then when it comes to the screen saying Flashing Mode, i insert the cd-rw which contains the bios.bin and dummy file on, it reads it fine 'cos it says bios update found.. Halting! Do i need to put something else on to the cd-rw so that it recognizes that i am flashing it and not updating it? What do i need to include aswell? Thanks for your help in advance, Danny

hello
I have flash my 2.3L+ with 4981.06 and no problem so far. I have 1.5 with focus video so I can't see the flashing (probably Cromwell 1.8?).
I want to flash the newest Cromwell 2.8 executer bios. Can I then see something on my TV when flashing Xecuter/evox bioses? Is it easy to flash new Cromwell, i.e. is it the same way as executer/evox bioses :?:

Is there an answer forum here - all I see are questions?

Hi, I see a lot of problems. I have similar problems, too. Some people eventually say nevermind, I fixed it but don't say how. My main problem is I have the focus chip and can't see anything. I don't know if things are working or not. I have the 2.3B lite+. I burn the CD with the latest BIOS, I put it in, Bank 1, Unprotected, Enabled. The CD tray opens, I put in the CD, after a few seconds, it powers down. Does it do this whether it works or not? There's nothing to see. There's something about switching to Bank 2 but I'm scared to wipe out the safe BIOS. Help me Obi Wan.

You're Almost There!

OK, you have flashed your BIOS correctly, now you need to burn a copy of EVOX "EvolutionX" and install it to your hard drive. You can download these from the usual places : )~

Once you have burned a copy of "Slayers Evolution X", just insert your CD when prompted for "waiting for drive -flash mode". This will give you a menu to install Evolution X. This will modify your hard drive and install Exolution X. Once it's done, you'll reboot. You should now be able to boot up your xbox and Evolution X should load.

Have fun!

Can sumbody please post the proper way flashing the chip using an x-ecuter programmer...Sum say it's the best way to flash, while other's post the dangers of it. I used the wire method of installing my chip so I can't just rip mine off and slap it back on, anything would be greatly appreciated.
