Sorry about the dumb comment/question. I was just wondering with all of the feedback in here about the 2.x versions of the mod chip, does this apply to the x3? Is the process almost the same/exactly the same as the 2.6(x) version? I just put my first mod chip (X3) in my v1.0 xbox last night with no problems!! The flash bios screen came up right away!! First try!! The only thing I'm hazy on is all this bios stuff. I'm not in any way a computer wiz, but I know my fair share of stuff. Like eveyone else that is a noob I just dont want to F*C* anything up!! Any help here would be very appreciated.. Thank you...

i have this problem also.followed the guide to the letter, installed the mod flashed the bios ,worked like a dream shut down on completion.but still get same message .wants to flash again does it shuts down.and again and again????.anybody any clues yet.or do i need to employ sherlock holmes.thanks walt :?
I'm having the same issue as walt1, and I can't find this problem described anywhere else. Any ideas for resolution?

I have an x3 and I'm running v1.6. When I turn on the xbox, I see the bios bootup screen. I have external banks 1 and 2 on, the rest of the switches are off, and I am using a 1MB file using v3.0.3. I loaded up the bios CD on my xbox, and xbox recognized the file and went through the steps to write over the bios, and turned off. But when I turned on my xbox after flashing, it came up to the same bios bootup screen, and I didn't get a confirmation that it flashed successfully. However, the bios version at the top of the screen did say 3.0.3, so clearly SOMETHING happened, because it was at 3.0.0 before. But I did NOT get a confirmation screen that I successfully flashed, and I keep returning to this bios bootup screen. I have tried 3.0.0, 3.0.2, and 3.0.3, and nothing seems to make a difference.

Anybody else experience this issue or know how to resolve it?

Thanks for the reply, but please have some consideration for us newbies. I've been pouring through the forums all over for an answer and doing the best I can. Would you please post another response with some information that I can actually use? It doesn't help to reply with a cryptic response:

you are flashing the FlashBIOS bios - so what do you think is gonna come up on screen ????
 So what do you mean by I'm flashing the FlashBIOS bios? What I expect to come up on the screen is a confirmation that I've successfully flashed.

Come on, please help out a little.

Nevermind, I just got the A-HA. Thanks. Sorry if I was pouty.

So now I got a new prob. I flashed with X3 1959 and got the blank screen on bootup. From the other posts, it sounds like people have concluded this is a bad soldering job on LPC 13 and 14, but I checked the board and it looks tight. I got one adviser telling me I should flash the 1959 to the backup. If it doesn't work, will I be completely screwed? 'cause if it doesn't work, I'll get a black screen on the regular bootup and the backup. Anyone have some solid advice for next steps?

thanx.

I am dumfounded on what to do about this blank screen. I checked my LPC 13 and 14 and it's fine.

I get a blank screen on every bios that I've flashed. I've tried x3 build 1959, 1957, 1943 Gold and x2 4979.67 and 4979.06. With the x3 bios, I used 1MB on banks 1 and 2, and with the x2 bios, I tried 256k on banks 1,2,3,4. On the x2 bios flashing, I get a frag. On the x3 bios, I get a blank screen. Everything flashes normally and the xbox shuts down properly.

I have no problem starting up on bank 2 to get to the flashbios screen, and switching to banks 1 and 2 to reflash the flashbios, which gets me back to normal and ready to try again. But I cannot flash any x3 bios without getting a blank screen.

Does anyone have any advice?

Bought an xecuter 3 new to moding xbox I have a lot of experience. I have never in my life been threw such a sh*tty strung out mess as trying to get straight answers about moding xbox. My advice is get your f**king links on your site fixed like how to flash bios. I've been to many sites and their the same, hours of reading double talk and incomplete instructions. My opinion is you could'nt explain to my grandmother how to wipe her ASS  It apears that you just dive in and if something don't work (no reply) And If something does work its (what are you bitching about) and a lot of dadadadadada. If someone could communicate some instructions from begining to end would be a great start, instead I will have to piece it together myself becouse it is clearly to complex for someone to write complete how to. I like to get my head around a task before jumping, tutorials on mods must be written with head in ass. P.S. fix your how to flash X3 links and you would'nt need this forum da.

ok im new to the whole scene here too and i have spent hours trying to get straight answers. i see were the problim lies tho. theres so much info on so many different things people get it all mixed up.such as confusing flasbios bios with other bioses. theres an over abundance of info and theres no order to it. there should be a handheld tutorial on one of these forums starting with the xbox install moving on to the flash and going though different options and then on to explain the differences of bioses ect. however i think im in the right direction now but i have a few questions.i followed the tutorial at the begining of this topic seems a little outdated but maybee not. i used nero 6 express to make the cd but i didnt see an option to make it .iso so i made it a bootable disc. is this right. .. what i was trying to do was to put evo 8 on it and then later put avalaunch. but one step at a time because when i put the cd in with my bin files on it,it just says please insert cd flashing mode. assuming i use a different cd and get this to flash will i be able to put the evo8 on it or is that a no can do?

thanks

Help with wxRipper

Hi, I'm trying to backup a xbox 360 game and I opened up a DVD drive and am using a 7.67gb copy of spiderman 3. I am also running windows xp pro 64bit. wxripper will not communicate with my dvd drive, i put in the movie and it spins up but when i click to stop it in wxripper nothing happens. does wxripper support 64bit? if it doesn't is there anyway to get around it?

thanks

Pioneer 111D flash it with the Firmware
I'm not sure what your telling me. I already have my xbox 360 flashed. I opened up an IDE LG DVD-ROM drive and I am trying to backup a game with it using hotswap and wxripper

Edit: I just switched to my 32bit rig and it seems to be working fine. I guess wxripper doesn't support 64bit windows.
