i have downloaded the x3 bios from xbins and burned it onto a dvd as the instructions said, but when i try to load bios onto mod it says unknow bios halting. should it say that even though the modchip is unprotected.

Did you unrar the file you downloaed from xbins? Which file are you using? Which Xbox version have you got? Did you rename the file? You're aware that Unprotected = Red led right? just checking...

unrared. xbox version 1.0 file from xbins is flash X3 bios name X3_1463 i renamed it to bios.bin and in nero it changed to uppecase, mod was unprotected but it still says the name BIOS.BIN unknown flash halting! on the screen of the xbox

probably a media probelem, is the xbox networked to the pc? if so use http flash.

on the xbox it keeps on saying unknown bios. ok how can i download a bios from this website cuz when i click on download it sends me to word pad with a whole mess of numbers and letters and symbols
you cant, did you get it from xbins? download it again, extract the bios file and dont rename it, leave it as it is. then try.

it still does the same thing, on mod chip it says green= unprotected and red= protected is that correct
hmm. on ie the ip for xbox is titled Flash bios 3.0.0 but on xbox screen its title 3.0.1 does that effect anything

i tried it with the bank 1234 on on off off off and i also tried it without the switch and did the same thing. maybie its this motherboard that i bought from ebay
NO...you need a red led to be able to flash the X3.yusbel said:
