i give up. not going to mess around trying to get my ver 1.6 box to work with my xecuter 2.6 anymore.i want to put my hard drive from my 1.6 into my ver 1 box(hard drive is its only prob) then put my chip in this machine.i am getting error 6(cant unlock hard drive).when i get my chip in, can i use flashbios to unlock it? i also read you can bring the eeprom to match the hd along with it, just solder it in. is this true?

If you are going to one machine to the next with a locked HHD then the new Xbox won't unlock it... you need to unlock it with the box it was locked in... or format it.

eeprom is memory... it's little and it's delicate. I guess you can try to take the memorey off the MOBO... but I wouldn't do that...

If I were yo u I'd take the hit that I'm going to loose my HDD stuff and start over... you may loose some games but at least your box will work.

yes, thats the prob. getting it unlocked b4 i put it in. thats why i was considering changing eeprom aswell.wonder if i booted my 1.6 with good hd, that would then unlock it.without unpluging the power, just the ide cable move it over to my chiped 1.0. would i then be able to work with the hard drive?

If you wanna unlock the HDD in 1.6 and put it into 1.0 u r gonna need to chip the 1.6
no way round the unlocking the drive unless u have master pass for HDD! (I believe there is one!)
Mate take yer time! get the xbox working before u install the chip and LPC rebuild board.
Other than that if u feel u r not competent enough, pay someone to do it for you!
