OK, What am I missing?

I've done quite a few 2x and 3x mods on xbox version 1.0-1.5. They all worked perfectly using a bios I picked up a couple years ago when I did my first X2.3 pro. This time I have a 2.6CE and it's plugged int a 1.6b. I must confess that the mod itself was more difficult than I'm used to, but it works. My problem is that I'm having a difficult time getting it to take a bios. I tried my old one first. It loaded a 512k bios to bank one, but won't boot to it. It reboots three times and then flashes colers with a blank screen. Then I read through these forums and disover the all powerful 5035 bios for 1.6b xboxes, and I go and get it. I have the bios file. The iso will burn to a cd, but not a dvd. Nero won't let me put it on a dvd. I tried using Cheeta dvd to burn it, and it seem to work. I have the image on both DVD and CD, but the chip wont see it when I put either one in the drive. It just states there's no bios and halts.
What am I missing?

Oh yeah, I have the same problem with any image I got from Xbox-HQ

I think that you've might ended up with an old BIOS on your chip. You'll need to put the newer X2 5035 BIOS on your chip and ...

1. If you can't boot to Bank2 on your chip then your options are either doing a hot swap or get a programmer
2. If you can boot to Bank2 then boot to it, flick the switch to Bank1 and install the 5035 via either the DVD or FTP.

Try a larger dummy file, or flash via http.

I'm booting to bank 2 with the 3.03 bios, and the 5035 version is the 1.6b plus. it's just a matter of burning the .iso to a disk using Nero, right? like any other image?

Dummy file? I guess I'm a too much a noob for making bios images.

Somehow, I'm not doing something right. If I unrar the bios files to a folder, I see a single bin file in that folder. If I open that bin file with Deamon tools, I see the bios.bin and a dummy file.
1. Do I burn the parent image, or the two files inside it?
2. What should I be using to burn these.? I have disk juggler, and Nero 6 express suite. Nero won't see the Bin files as an image at all, and disk juggler says it will burn bins, but it doesn't see bios.bin or dummy.bin as a bin file.

I read the links as suggested, and you guys have been great at answering my questions, but somehow, it's not working the way it's described.

Nero will work fine. It isn't supposed to see the bin file as an image. There is a section of the flashbios how to that tells you have to burn with Nero.

Thanks guys. I got it working. Turns out my version of nero was nero express, which doesn't come with the ful nero burning rom. I didn't have the option of setting up the image burn. I upgraded to a full version 7.0.8, and it worked beautifully. You guys rock.
