Right first off I appologise if this is a really stupid question.. but i have looked around the forum and can't see what i need..

Right i've flashed the bios, with build 1957..

Now it boots up with the configuration screen. so thats all fine.

Problem is, every time i boot the xbox, it goes to this screen??? I FTP'd to the box, and copied EvoX to the C Drive, and it STILL doesn't load the dashboard....

Am I supposed to change the switches on the front in some way???

HELP!!! :(

No, it's a configuration option somewhere in the config screen, can't remember where.
When you turn this off, you can always go back by holding the white button during boot.

I think that you need to go to the "Reboot to dash" option on the main bios config screen. Then if you want to skip the bios screen al together you need to go to
"X3 config Live"
"Customize X3 Bios"
"Autostart X3 Config Live"

Disable this option and you should boot right to your dashboard.

If you want to boot back to the X3 Config then hold the"white" button while booting and you should go back to the Bios Config screen.

Peace

Thanks a lot guys

I knew it would be the option "Autostart X3 Config Live" but i was worried because i didn't know how I would get the bios configuration screen back. Holding down the white button... real handy info!!

Cheers!!

Is it not possible to flash newer Lite-Ons?

I was going to buy an extra XBox online from Dell or Amazon, so it's more than likely going to be a Lite-On drive.

However, I've read around forums and such that certain Lite-Ons can not be flashed. 9xxx or whatever it was. Is this true? If so, why? Or will this be a non-issue with LTs release.

Re: Is it not possible to flash newer Lite-Ons?

LiteOn 74xxx drives can be dumped and flashed. Older 83xxx drives can be dumped and flashed. Newer 83xxx drives can be dumped but cannot be flashed. 93xxx drives can be dumped but cannot be flashed. A tutorial here will tell you how you can dump the firmware (the entire firmware) for all LiteOn drives; dumping the firmware like this is not necessary for the 74xxx and older 83xxx drives - but it necessary for the newer 83xxx and 93xxx drives (so you can then spoof another, flashable drive in their place). When using Jungle Flasher to read the firmware on the 74xxx and older 83xxx drives, it does not dump the complete firmware, but creates a 'fake' firmware called dummy.bin. If you want to dump the entire firmware, you should visit the link I gave above. LT will not affect any of this.

An Xbox 360 with LOT NO (LOT number) 0925X should give you a 'good' LiteOn (older 83xxx drive). You could also look at the MFR date; try to get something manufactured before August.

Re: Is it not possible to flash newer Lite-Ons?

Damn! I'm in the same boat... I don't know which drive I have yet, but the manufacture date is Oct/09. How do I find out the lot number??

So you're saying if it in fact is one of the newer Lite On drives, I have to pony up for a replacement drive??? Can I go the mod chip route instead?
