Old 2.6 and new 2.6 xecuter problems

I modded my box with the older 2.6 xecuter around christmas and it has been working great. I tried to help a friend install the new 2.6 executer in his box and what do you know no lights. So i had read some posts and tried hot switching them into my xbox but now neither of the chips work. no lights nothing in eather box? I am using the black xapter and the old box is Manufacture date 11-2002 and the new box is 11- 2004. I am completly stumped. Can any one help me with this problem please?

Are you plugging the switches in when you are working on these? Without them the X2 chip will not light. The enable/disable switch also controls voltage to the on-chip LED. (at least on the CE version)

I had the switch plugged in from both chips and it still does not work. No lights and the xbox acts like the chip is not even in at all. I have tried pushing it in firmer and still no lights.

Did the D0 wire come out of the hole? A solderless adaptor is not the best install method to be swapping chips around with. Try completely removing it and then reinstalling it.

I tried the D0 wire but it still does not work. It acts like there is not a chip there at all. I think that when I tried the other switch on the old chip that it may have flashed out the chips. Is it possible for a bad switch to flash the chip and kill it?

Is the chip able to be enabled, and it prolly sound like the D0, cuz its just a simple little wire hanging off.
