i do all my dvd flashes on a serperate comp that has a sata card installed with no drivers etc....

i just ordered a ihas 424 for back ups...its a sata drive and my main comp is quit old and does not have sata inputs....for the drive....

do i need another pci sata card to run this ihas?

or what would you suggest beside bucking up for a new comp....(which i am really trying to do), thank you .

you will need another sata card to run the drive on the older computer, or you can get a 3.5inch external enclosure and connect it through usb :)

If you get the X360USB Pro, you can use that to connect the iHAS to your computer... obviously you'll need to power it from the PSU though.

It'd also allow you to flash drives easier and more reliably than using the VIA SATA card. Not only that, putting another SATA card in your PC runs the change of potential hardware conflicts, since the drivers will need to be installed in order to run the iHAS drive, while you need the drivers removed for the VIA.

So yeah... I'd just save up and get the X360USB Pro... as you mentioned, you won't need another computer then. :)

Over there
Nice and easy setup is USBPRO the only down side is you need to power it with psu or converter molex.

Yes you are correct. With the x360USB Pro you'll be able to flash your drives and also connect your iHAS. You should also get a CK3 Mini and an AC Molex Adapter to power the drive.

ok i get it....

usb pro: usb to computer and sata to ihas or flashable drive sata

ck3 pro: power from molex adapter and 8 or 10 pin plug to drive power in

the mini or the ck3pro is there strictly to power the ihas or the flashable drive...

correct? thank you all for taking the time, i appreciate it =)

Caution...do not buy a cheap external power to molex converter like I did. They can't handle the current draw of the drive and will burn up in short order. I got mine from ebay cause it was cheap and in hindsight that was a mistake. It lasted 1 day and then burnt up.

The one that dgenx lined to earlier in this thread is a good bet since they are an official reseller of xecuter products.

I agree. Also, I attached a picture to give the OP an idea of how everything is set up.
