Hey all,

A year or so ago I hacked my BenQ drive and since then it has stopped playing burned games, I want to update to the most recent firmware version but I lost my original files when my hard drive crashed, I don't remember what firmware was flashed at the time.

Without my old key, can I safely upgrade to the most recent firmware, and is there anything special I should do that isn't mentioned in the jungle flasher tutorial?

I used that tutorial for my first flash so I am somewhat familiar with the process, mind you I didn't have an X360pro at that time.

Basically, just looking for advice on my specific situation for a hacked drive on old firmware, dashboard hasn't been updated since mid 2011 and the console has been stored in a safe place not being used for over a year now.

Sorry for the rant, hope someone knowledable can assist!!

Get your key, flash the drive back to stock firmware with the key, take the m$ dash updates via the prompts on the dash or USB, then flash with the lt3.0 custom firmware.

Go through the process of flashing again but this time load stock firmware as your target (stock firmware version will depend what dash you are currently on. You will able to tell when JF detects your drive it will either be 649345 etc or 04420) flash the drive with stock firmware and update your xbox to the latest dash (maybe not 14719 just yet untill c4eva gives the clear stick with 14717) then flash your drive with LT+ v3.0 04420 firmware

Thanks I'll post my results after dumping and flashing stock. Is it bad to update dashboard on outdated firmware?

It's always recommend to flash back to stock before taking any dash updates. It also helps prevent any errors that can be created during an update as a result of having a cfw on your drive.
