old hard drive

i was wondering. i had a xbox with a x2.6 in it and i sold but i kept the hard driveand installed it in to a box that has and xecuter 3 and it is a v1.6 box. i was wonderning since i had evox flash on the 2.6 would i have to flash th x3 with the same evox as i use last time o use all the programs and stuff on the hard drive. i was thinking of using the x 3029 to flash the chip. thanks

The chip has absolutely nothing to do with the hard drive.
You should be able to take any working hard drive from any xbox and use it in another without changing anything.

Now before everyone starts going crazy, there is a catch. If you want to use the M$ dash or go on xbox live you have to lock the drive to the motherboard. You can only do this if you were smart enough to unlock it before you took it out of the box or if you ever did a backup and saved the hard drive key.

Also if you were on xbox live and replace the hard drive then you need to do a search on "Marriage Theory".
