old PS3 60Gb hard drive on JTAG 360 not being recognised in xplorer360

Hi all, i've just JTAG'd my Xenon 360 and got it all running with freestyle dash and freeboot as a backup. Problem is is that I was using a standard 20Gb 360 drive which is nowhere near big enough as I want to play RAGE on it once i've got it!
Anyway, I had a 60Gb PS3 hard drive floating around so I stuck it in my PC, formatted it and then hooked it up to the 360 via the 20Gb's enclosure wiring. I formatted it for use from freestyle dash and turned it off. I plugged it back into my PC and made sure the PC discovered a drive that needed formatting but didn't format! I opened up xplorer360 and tried to find the 60Gb like I would do the 20Gb and it came back with an error that no 360 hard drive was discovered!
Is there any reason for this and if it's just a case of compatability then would there be a way to run freestyle dash from USB stick or to completely replace freeboot's default.xex in the flash with the default.xex of freestyle dash? In fact i'd like that last question answering as I would like to know that, that way I could turn on my 360, go straight through to freestyle dash without any hard drive or USB stick if possible. That would make life a lot easier for me that way as I can forget all about having to use USB hard drive enclosures then!
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Thread can be closed now, managed to sort this out myself in the end by using a USB stick and making it 360 compatible and saving a bit of space for my own files. Placed xexmenu on the usb stick by using USBXFATGUI and then a complete copy of my 20Gb partition 3 data. Once I loaded into freeboot I went to games menu, run xexmenu and then transfered all my stuff to partition 3 from my backup and run the dashlaunch installer to set everything up correctly.
I'd still like to know though if it's possible to replace the Launch.xex & launch.ini in the flash to say freestyle dash so that freestyle dash runs every time no matter what hard drive, usb drive etc is attached!

I think you need to re read the rules anyway as you talk about "downloading" rage which is piracy.

Thanks for the heads up, I completely forgot, it's hard trying to remember so many different forums rules! I've replaced the word now to bring it into line with the rules! Sorry, won't happen again.

xplorer360 will only work with legit microsoft HDDs or HDDhackr harddrives
i believe it looks for the HDDSS.bin and won't see anything else

if you wish to put files on your JTAG formatted HDD into specific folders, i suggest using the file manager of freestyledash or xex menu to basically copy/paste from a FAT32 flash drive to the correct folder
its easier and faster than trying to use a HDDmanager
