Hello,

I would like to install os sx on my old switch with ofw 4.1.0 to play to Zelda link's awakening.
The game require ofw 8.0.1.

Do I have to update my system firmware to 8.0.1 (with choixdujour)? (is there any other way?)

How can I bypass the firmware update?

Which os sx version should I use?

just create an emunand and update that using choi. I have switches on sysnand 4.1,7.0 and 8.0 and using emunand 8.1 with no issues.

1. First, update to the latest SX 2.9.2 before you do anything.

2. Please create a nand backup if you haven't already done so.

*You cannot bypass firmware updates. (you can ignore firmware requirements AS LONG AS the masterkey matches the content you're trying to install. In your case, you cannot ignore firmware if the game requires 8.1.0, since you are on 4.1.0 firmware. They contain different masterkeys)

3. Use ChoiDujourNX v1.0.2 to update your sysNAND to 9.0.1 (this will update the ofw to 9.0.1 as well)

Alternatively, you can do as the user above stated. Create an emuNAND, and use ChoiDujourNX v1.0.2 to update the emuNAND to 9.0.1. That way, your sysNAND will remain untouched at firmware 4.1.0

Just be sure to strictly adhere to step 2 and keep that in a safe and reliable place. If you go w emunand I recommend file based as very easy to copy to hdd for regular backing up in case of future bricks or problems.
