older bios xecuter2 4982.67, no boot, no ftp

my machine is v 1.4
I didn´t chip it, but been updating with the easier stuff, so im not so hardcore on this.

Anyways. bios= xecuter2 4982.67
modchip = ST M29F002T/NT/BT/BNT Winbond W49F020T
(information taken from mediacenter while it was working)

I start the box, but i won´t get further then the xbox loggo with the big green X and it says executer2 below.
this happend when i deleted XBMC folder from e:apps and rebooted.
there is an old avalaunch on the system to, so if the xbmc should´t start it would go to the avalaunch xbe file. but not this time, so i suspect there is something wrong with the boot sector, an area where i have no knowledge at all.

i was told to hold the white button while booting up, but that didn´t make a diffrence. Any suggestions?

try renameing "avalanuch.xbe" file to "xbmc.xbe" or "evoxdash.xbe"

there´s no ftp connection so i can´t access those files, i was suggested to use xecuter live config by pressing the L/R triggers or the white button, but now i´ve read that just work on xecuter3 and i got xecuter2 on my box.
Does that mean there´s nothing i can do?

shouldn´t it work with a boot disc, if so, wich one?
or do i have to flash the bios?

could the harddrive be broken?

How did you finally solve this problem??

I have a similar problem.
Xbox 1.6, Executer 2.6 CE. The startup screen is EvolutionX.

I deleted the XBMC folder via FTP---> and now when I reboot, my Xbox hangs at the "rox my box" screen.
I can't access the harddrive with FTP anymore, it doesn't read any CD/DVD so I'm not able to use an auto installer deluxe bootdisk or flash the bios. (I also do not have the external switch cable)

When I turn off the modchip I get in the original MS dashboard and can play original games just fine. (but it won't startup anything else) BANK 1 is the situation described above, BANK 2 is a useless Linux sort of bios which ONLY allows me to boot to a Xebian Linux CD. When I do I also do not have any access to the harddisk. (I've never even flashed the bios before as it all used to work fine. I believe the current version of BANK 1 is v3935)

Anyone has an idea?

you should still be able to get ftp with this the ip and password are diffrent but should be on a readme file that came with linux dvd download

Althought it seemed the Xbox froze after the "rox my box" screen, it did load the auto installer deluxe bootdisk, and everything is fine now.

My final question. What are the recommended settings for the Xecuter 2.6 CE? I mean which recent bios settings for BANK 1 and BANK 2. X2 5035 (the one made specific for Xbox 1.6) in BANK 2? And in BANK 1?
