If you happen to break a trace, you can rebuild it with a CircuitWriter pen of bridge the points that it covers with a new wire, right?

If there are any other methods for trace rebuilding, please tell me.

......Well........
Trace rebuild didn't go exactly as planned.....

Once I cleaned the surface off with some rubbing alcohol, it happens that the one of the terminal points I was going to place a jumper wire between isn't really there anymore.

I suppose you would call this a lifted pad, although there really wasn't a pad to begin with.....it was originally a tiny copper circle.

With the awesome power of a digital multimeter, I was able to find out what was broken.

The trace above the D0 point and the trace below the D0 point do not have continuity....Ironic, eh?

I can fix the one thats below it with a wire, but the one above it is missing a pad....?????? :?

Any advice on fixing this, and BTW, when I say pad, I don't mean the larger, silver type, I mean the small circles with copper around them. I can't see this point right now, and that's obviously not good....
Would cleaning this area with rubbing alcohol expose the point again, or do I have to find some alternate point where I can solder this thing to?

Any help would be great, thanks.

BTW, if theres anyone who lives in the Woodlands and really knows about this kinda stuff, tell me please.

I was just curious to how hard it is to fix a trace and since im nto that experienced does anyone think it would be better just to buy a new mobo. also if i do buy a new mobe. should i stick with the 1.6 or try gettin a 1.5? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Maybee you should let someone else do it or buy a pre mod and sell your old one to the llama ... www.llama.com or on ebay.

bnolic, its me. I decided just to finish the install on my own, and I'm almost done.

I still have to repair two traces. One of them is going to be an easy repair by just soldering some wire between the two broken points, but one of them is going to be difficult. The trace's terminal point is not very visible right now. I believe the rosin from the solder has covered the point up, as it is just black now. Can I clean this with some rubbing alcohol, or do I need to do something else?

Thanks.
