I been having issues since I install everything. I know all my solder joints are good. I install the following on a trinity mainboard:

TX Demon
TX CoolRunner Rev C
TX CPU Reset Cleaner
Windows 8.1

I had issues installing the drivers for the demon, but manage to get it install. Everything was working, was able to download nand from the xbox after other issues I had. I did notice that my demon kept disappearing off of my device manager. All I did was unplug it and back and it would show up. Well now the demon seems dead, no just being recognize by windows 8.1, reports that the it failed to get demon USB Device Descriptor, but I tried installing the driver manually, but it would failed to startup. Here what's I notice:

Before I was having issues,

When just the USB connected to the demon with the XB selected, I was getting power. I was also getting power when it was switched to PC.

But now I do not get power when XB is selected, but I still get power when it switch over to PC. Don't matter which mode it is in, it will always fail to get demon USB Device Descriptor.

Even when the USB not connected and plug in the xbox. It powers on with no issue and can boot into the stock nand when you turn off the Demon.

I did notice that the CR debug led flash only once, not sure if that a issue too. I also reseat the ribbon and confirm that there was 5V and gnd going to the demon when using only USB power.

Post photos of your install and also a screen shot showing Device Manager with the DemoN connected to your computer.

If DemoN drivers are correctly installed, you will see the TX DemoN logo in J-Runner when it is connected.

I had it in test mode at first and didn't work either. Seems it not getting power via just the USB cable in XB mode, even if it is in PC mode, I still get the same error.

UPDATE: I finally figure out the issue. People just don't use Windows 8, it causes too many issues and these drivers that for the demon do not work on windows 8. I ended up using a older computer with Windows 7 and the driver installed.

Well guys, turns out my issue still present. I installed windows 7 onto my tower and updated all the drivers for my USB and I still getting device not recognize or device unknown in the device manager. I do realize that I think everything was working fine until I updated the demon to 1.4, but here's the thing. If I switch the demon to PC mode via switch, it has no problems finding it. Just when the XB is switched over. This has to be the most pain in the neck device I never seen. If I use someone else computer that has windows 7 install, it finds it only if I unplug the xbox and back, but not with my computer. I think 1.4 firmware is faultly.

1.4 firmware is fine. I have been using it since it came out, and have never had a problem with it. also, if the demon is installed, the switch should always be on XB, never PC as this can cause damage to the Xbox or the Demon. As long as everything is set up correctly, soldering is good, I would check the ribbon cable to the external USB module. Also if it isnt showing up in the device manager, then you probably need to install the driver, and it is showing up as an unknown device.

That's what I just did with the tower, a fresh Windows 7 OS and still the issue. It's the same computer that I was having problems with Windows 8.1. So later today I am going to install Windows 7 onto my laptop and see if it works there.

Try putting the demon switch to xb. You may have damaged it the way it is set in your pictures at the top especially if you had power going to the xbox and the demon usb plugged in.
when you switch it to xb you need the console power connected with the console turned off.
The pc, xb switch basically cuts 5v power fron the usb when switched to xb.

I think you are right, I think the demon is somehow damage. When I first installed the demon, I didn't realize I left the switch on the PC side and had it plugged in via USB and the xbox itself. But the thing is that it worked for a while. There should had been something on the demon to protect being damage if both were to get 5V from the xbox and pc at the same time. All I know is this.

When switch is on the PC side, it powers on via USB. If the switch is on the XB side, it only gets power from the XBOX. So I going to test this again on my laptop and see what happens. I wonder what happens if it turn out that it's damage. In a way there should had been a device on the board to protect that.

Edit: Good news for me. The Demon is fine and working now. I ended up using my laptop and installed Windows 7 and it works without any issues now. There something in my motherboard in my tower that causes problems with the Demon both Windows 7 And 8, maybe in fact in has USB 3.0 ports on it, who knows. Like I said, don't use Windows 8 period.
