When I was hooking up my X3 in my v1.0, I plugged the X3 on the board toward the left instead of the right. When I powered up I got a solid orange light around my eject, After I found the problem and fixed it I can't get it to boot to the X# bios and only the blue HD led on the switch panel lights up. I know I'm a dumbass but, atleast I admit it instead of waiting for you to tell me.

Did my X3 fry?

Thank you for all your help

Wow, I didn't even know that was possible. I thought a few pins were blocked.

Anyway, yeah, if I had to guess I'd say you fried it since now you have voltage going to places that aren't supposed to have any, not positive though becuase I have never seen this situation personally.

It doesn't - the pinheader and socket are 'keyed'.

You really have to go some to plug it in wrong. We have tutorials on this site to help you fit your chip. I suggest that you be a little more careful with the next one.

I can just picture someone using a hammer to get the chip down on the pinheader.
