My liteon fat (previously 74850) 0251 was on lt 1.91 with 2.0.13599 dash. I wanted to upgrade so I flashed back to stock upgraded dash to latest version via USB flash drive. I then used latest jungle flasher 1.89 to flash my drive to lt 2.0 and behold it won't play anything :eek2: backup or orginal :(. I just get open tray error.

I saw around forum a lot of people having this problem but I found no solution. Perhaps it's a bug or something. Any solutions , suggestions

Did you remove the laser ribbon cable prior to flashing? What happens when you revert the drive back to stock firmware? If it still says Open Tray, I would look at replacing the laser. For future reference, it would be an idea to remove the laser ribbon cable before you flash the drive because many people have reported similar issues with having it connected during flashing.

Whilst youve got the dvd drive open just have a look at the postion of the laser, sometimes when the drive is falshed the laser postions itself at the outer edge of the drive, with it like this it cannot read the disk and gives open tray error, if this is the case gently push the laser to the center of the drive and try again. If thats not the issue then as blakey says its a new laser:frown:

Try using one of your old dummy.bin files in source, spoof and revert it back to stock.

There is a chance of damaging the drive during the flash proceedure if the ribbon is not removed, (Laser can burn out)

this sucks. I'm gonna change the laser with old lite on I don't use and see what happens. Is there any good guides on this forum for doing just that?

I have a couple boxes and I never have this problem when I flash. And I don't remove the laser ribbon. I would say its a bad flash because not even your originals are working. Try a pot tweak, if you have a multimeter, and see how that works. Posting you jf log wouldn't hurt either. I will say that I do have extra lasers on hand just in case they do go bad because using backups eventually takes it toll on lasers because they tend to make the laser work a little harder.
