LITEON 74850 open tray with backup but plays my original fine

I have a liteon 74850 drive that I reverted to stock, then updated dash to 13599 then flashed to 2.0 and I get open tray on backups but plays my original just fine. I have the latest jungleflasher and current drivers using the ck3i and probe 3. Any suggestions would be great. I even replaced the laser to see if that was the problem but it does the same. Thanks

Sounds like it didn't flash correctly if it still plays originals, or for some reason it is flashing from stock to stock.

There could be a whole host or reasons for this, from bad media to bad flash properties, Jungle flasher log would clear some of this up.

Layer break - Yes, Did they work fine before - Yes and Did I delete the last few line of key - Yes..... Its the wierdest thing. I have never experienced this before. At least it gives me something to work on and figure out. You think a POT TWEAK is worth trying?

Im thinking a weak laser also because it reads for a good minute and you can hear the laser trying its best to do something but just falls short and says open tray.... The laser i replaced it with came from a liteon replacement i recieved as payment for another xbox fix so it may be coincidental they are both weak lasers. Thanks again for all you guy's help.

Oh yea I learned the hard way a long time ago on removing the cable ribbon..... The laser came out of a refurbed replacement.
i would try and steer clear of refurb ones if i was you,

try the pot tweak its easy to do with right equiptment see if that works,

what colour is your laser to look at not the actual laser the lens mate?

Just tested with multi-meter and its reading 2.74 and i'm reading that unless its factory set below 3 then dont go lower.... I'm leaving it alone and I will be getting a new drive to see if that fixes the problem.... Thanks for all your help

dont need a new drive m8 just a new laser not a refurbed one, looking at that reading its fairly low hence why the diode is not reading backups, a new laser a lot cheaper than a drive:D

if the lens is blue in colour to look at no doubt its dodgy, should be clear to look at
