ANSWERED open tray

flased my 9504 back to stock

updated to new dash.

everything went good.

apart from i now get open tray for disc drive?

i had this prob before few months back when i first flashed LT+1.1 and took it apart,hooked it up to jf and put back together and it was fine...phew.

now this open tray error has come back again. i figured it might be a loose sata cable in the xbox but they seem ok.


any ideas anyone?

UPDATE: it plays dvds' fine but when no disc in drive and tray closed it says open tray. is it some sort of mechanical fault?

when there is no disc in the drive it WILL say open tray as you hit A on your controller to open the tray

did you remove the laser ribbon when flashing? after all 9504 is a lite-on

what a dupe iam lol

so open tray with no disc is fine.

it's alwas the simplist of things that get me.

no didn't remove the laser ribbon as uber says don't bother and MS are flashing the drive after all with laser in so no i didn't.

open tray with no disc is working as intended (wants you to open the tray)
