Optional Media Update

Alright, so my question is does the Optional Media Update work with a modified console?

I find it easier to use an external hard drive with my movie backups rather than sifting through the DVDs to find what I wanna watch.

If not I can suck it up and stick a DVD in. Haha

Alrighty. So, I can use and FTP client or put the OMU on a formatted flash drive and transfer it to the 360 hard drive. Seems simple enough. Thanks you guys. As always the help is much appreciated!
