Hey guys, this is my 3rd jtag and I need a little help.

According to this diagram I have an opus motherboard. So I dumped the nand and everything is all fine, but then when I went to solder in the diodes I noticed that the board looks just like a Xenon, and nothing like the non-Xenon jtag diagrams I've found on the net. :S XENON NON-XENON

So I just wired it up like a Xenon, flashed it with a Xenon XBR image, and I got the 1 red light error (e79? I can't remember).

I've checked all the points with a multimeter and it says they're all good.. so.. I am assuming I've wired it up wrong..

Has anyone heard of an Opus that looks exactly like a Xenon? :(

it could possibly be your soldering....post some pics...I have never done an pus before because they are so rare so I do not know how it looks like from the inside....although I think its a xenon...have you checked how much power it takes up..and did you add your jumper

Alright, here's some pics... Also, when taking pics of the power input on the back, well... with the flash on the camera and all....

Doesn't it look like there USED to be the little square block in there, like the Xenons have??? Maybe this is an Xenon after all :S

Maybe it's these diodes.. I just ordered 50x 1N4148 from ebay, using 2 in these pics.. Hope they're not the problem..

Oh, also:
I wrote the Xenon XBR image, then read it back, compared it in a hex editor. It was fine, identical. Unplugged the 360, waited 30 seconds or so, plugged it into the TV, 1 red light. Then I plugged it back into the nand-x, read it again, and it's no longer identical to the XBR image!

edit: Here's a follow up.. I read the original nand image in 360 flash dump tool, and it's telling me that it's a Retail Xenon (v1.0), but I don't have the cpu key and it says Bad KV... Does that matter? Is this really a Xenon with a broken power plug, or an Opus..? I am so confused....... :( lol

edit2: wrote original nand back, it boots up fine. I am thinking it's the jtag part. I am also thinking it's actually a xenon and not an opus, cause it looks to me like the square part on the power plug is broken off (see pic), and all signs point to xenon. Maybe it's these diodes??

edit3: So after writing the original nand, I read it back and compared them. 7 differences. sh#t. Degraded has no mention of bad blocks in either dump though....I don't know what that means or what to do...

first of all, it is a Xenon box
second, your jtag is mounted wrong, the 2 diodes have to soldered to J2D" point 1 and 2, seems like you have soldered to point 1 and 3and the black stribe on the diode have to point at the J1F1 , the one you have at J2D2 point 3 is facing the right way, just need to be moved to J2D2 point 1, the one at J2D2 point 2 is facing the wrong way

Wow....thanks guys... lol
You were right, one of the diodes was backwards.. I can't even tell you wtf I was thinking last night. I kept checking over the diodes, thinking they MUST be okay....:p And sure enough, the next day (today), I wake up, look at the board and think "wtf was I on".. lol

Writing the hacked image now. :D

Edit: And now it boots up fine. Thanks again guys, fail on my part for a backwards diode. Haha
