Ok my moms comp is the only one with a sata card. it worked for flashing my 360. Then one day the internet wouldnt work for here and said it was cause of my stuff on it. So she went and deleted EVERYTHING of mine. I had my original firmware in a fold that said. DO NOT DELETE THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. She did it anyway. i did a system restore and i didnt get the file back. So is there any way i could get the original firmware to put back on my xbox. I just want it so when microsoft finally does a ban for all the modded firmware i can restore mine and not get banned. I have a hitaci 59dj. thanks for any help :)

Honestly, for hitachi's you dont need a backup to restore your firmware. The software that came with the firmware package should restore the flashed sectors without your original. You really only need a backup of your original for your key. That is most important.

If you hook it up with sata again, get it in modeB and in windows, you can use memdump to dump your firmware. It can be found here. Then in a command prompt window, type:

memdump_win e 12200 8 8000 firmware.bin

with e being your drive letter assigned by windows and firmware.bin the name that you want your original to be called.

For older Hitachis at least. I think with the v0078FK drive you may need to have the original firmware to restore. Don't quote me on that though. Just remember to email it to yourself.
