ok so I am in information overload. I have decent computer knowledge, but not nearly as good as some you guys. I thought the 360 could be modded without opening it, but every tutorial someone makes me read shows opening the 360. I've read so many tutorials that my brain is overloaded from all the different techinques and programs I see them using. I just want to know if I can mod my 360 without opening it, because I'd rather not do that. I modded a ps1 back in the day but haven't done it in a while. I need someone to talk to me slowly and in the lamess terms possible. Pretend i'm retarded. I just need basic information first before I do anything.

I'm going to put it simply, no you can't. It has to be opened, there is no other way. If you still want to mod it I'd recommend you use Textbooks tutorial (it's on this site) and it's the best around.

.Or you can have it modded by Textbook. I'm having my done, and I'm quite pleased by the price paid to avoid the hassle of opening the 360. 8)
