I've been wanting a Jtag ever since those initial ones. But now with the RGH, I figured I'd wait a few months until the dust cleared.
So in the end what is needed? I need Coolrunners, Nand-X, QSB, etcs. A bit confusing.
Does Nand-x provide the 2ndary nand for one retail and one hacked nand?

I already have some experience with the liteon MRA hacks and doing soldering with arcade stick mods, so I feel just needing a smaller tip and I should be good there.

Only existing tool I have is a CK3-Lite.

It seems DemoN may be up my alley, but still unsure where that fits in/replaces. Also no eta/price yet.

I'm a noob also, and looking to at least get DVD Keys for an xbox I picked up... It's a xenon so probably not a good choice for a RGH box :( I have nand-x in the mail right now, and just installed j-runner and everything else it needed. Though I'm guessing in order to get the dvd keys I'll need the cool-runner too?

I'm good with soldering that's not going to be a problem for me, though can anyone point me to the best pics or tut of where these things need to go?

Also, since this box isn't RGH material, can I use wires instead of using the boards that come with nand-x so I don't have desolder them to put them into a good RGH box I'm in the process of looking for!

Did you even search for the Xenon pics, because i found them in seconds.

And no, you do not need to have the QSB. You can use just wires if you want.

Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack the thread, Just wanted the first dude to know he's not alone in being a noob....

I saw those pics, because I've been waiting for RGH2.0 to come out. I think I FINALLY figured out exactly what they are talking about in those pics. So thanks for making me look more closely at them!

I'll start my own thread for the rest of the questions!

Why are you waiting for RGH2.0 ?

Did you update your dash to 14717/14719 already ?

Nand-x, coolrunner, qsb and nand-x to coolrunner cable.
Thanks for the reply.
So it would be these?
Nand-X
http://www.xconsoles.com/products/Xecuter-NAND%252dX.html

Coolrunner
http://www.xconsoles.com/products/xecuter-coolrunner-revb.html

qsb
http://www.xconsoles.com/products/Xecuter-NAND%2dX-&-CoolRunner-Phat-QSB-Install-Kit.html

And nand-x to coolrunner
http://www.xconsoles.com/products/Xecuter-NAND%2dX-To-CoolRunner-JTAG-Cable.html

So from what I know the coolrunner is was enables the RGH to happen. QSB just simplifies install, less wires.

Where does the nandx come in? the pics make it look like a little box yet the tutorials I see always show some small qsb looking boards. I see it allows you to flash/update the coolrunner. Is that also the 2ndary nand to have the hacked nand info in it?

Do I need to use the ck3-lite at any point?

I'm still amateur with some wiring but this stuff just has so much crap coming from so many angles.
Also I'm no stranger trying to make my own parts like the 360 memunit usb cable mod, my own probes, etc.

I forgot the exact version of my dashboard but Ive been offline since about October.
I'll check and write it down tonight. Tax return coming so I want to try and order stuff before the wife spends it elsewhere.
Just moved apartments so she's finding excuses for all sorts of stuff.

You don't need the ck3 at all if your nandx has v3 on it already the qsb make it easier to connect the nandx and coolrunner

And not forgetting on the software side of things. Jrunner..... Quick, easy & painless :)
Software is the least of my worries at this point, as I don't have to explain the cost on that to the wife, heh.

After more delving I see the nand-x would sit outside the system? So that should be where the hacked nand resides and where I would toggle between the 2 then eh?

No. The Nand-x enables you to read and write your nand.

It is not a Nand switcher.

If it's 2 nands you want. Then wait for the Demon. It has a built in Nand reader/writer so you will not need the nand-x.

And has the ability to switch from stock nand to hacked nand

Ahh ok, perfect. That's what I thought. Those cygnos would have been the 2ndary nand then.
So if I were to do a few of these for friends, I would only need 1 nand-x then to reuse for each?
And in this case I would replace the coolrunner with a DemoN with coolrunner built in?
I guess I will just wait it out. Knowing I won't need a nand-x for each user should help lower the costs for us.
